IF there's a motorbike in the sign, then yes, definatley.
I had been told that Reading was a trial area that let bikes into bus lanes. My flate mate asked a cop who said 'Well I wouldn't stop a bike in abus lane'... but categorically refused to be quoted on it Sad.

As G says, look out for a motorcycle in the sign...most/all bus lanes in Bristol are biker friendly (shame about the buses themselves, eh?), although I still get some funny looks from car drivers...I'm always tempted to point at the sign, but think: "fuck it, what do i care about what they think about me?"...

That was specific one's on the M4 in London AFAIK.

A few in Reading have motorbike as well as push bikes signs... which I use... the rest don't, so I generally avoid them.

couldnt you just say if you get pulled over that the sign looked like a motorbike? and maybe the'd just let u off with a warning.
And if your using a bus lane and a bus is infront of you, theres not much chance of speeding...

someone got away with saying that technically their bike was a cycle so should be allowed and the cops let him off.

It all dpends on what mood the pig's in Confused .... if you catch one on a bad day that could possibly be 3 points Confused

Again if you get caught by a pig in a bad mood saying you mis-saw the road sign could be bad... That could've been a 'children crossing' sign you mis-saw Confused.

look for the times on the sign

its only in use for the time indicated

for example 7-10am then 4-7pm is what you will find mainly in london

although some have no times, and in those cases assume 24 hour use, bus lane fines are 80 quid so dont risk it if youre not sure

all down the A41 cars park in the bloody things, so it might as well not be there, pisses me off

It was me who used the "I'm a cycle on my tax disc" and it worked. Copper said "Well don't tell everyone". I think it just depends on how much of an arse they wanna be

Yes, I was wittering about the M4 bus lane which is now officially open to motorbikes. Nice, cos it's where the outside lane should be and you can just zoom past all the virtually stationary cars with a big fat grin on your face. Wish I'd mastered getting my feet up on the handlebars... Very Happy
