In order for us to be able to access the site it has to be placed on a computer connected to the interwebs. When you ask your browser for a page, it asks the server. So depending on the site it could get anything from 1 page request per month, to 100,000 a minute.
A big ass database like BCF has takes a lot of number crunching to get through to perform searches and the like, so processor and hard disk effect that a fair bit.
Most of the speed up comes from the new server being in amsterdam rather than the US. So the page request doesn't have to cross the atlantic twice before anything happens.
Though if the new server doesn't start to experiment with mind altering drugs, i'll lose all respect for it.

so is that y at peak times (round 8ish) i would try to come on and somtime it would say server to busy, because it was trying to handle more than it could.
