Hi
my bike blew the piston when someone cut the 2 stroke line. I took it up my local motorbike mechanic on 6th. He rang me on the 13th to tell me it needed a re-boring so i gave him the go ahead. Haven't head anything since. I always take my bike to him, always had good service etc. Im a bit worried about ringing to find out the progress incase im coming across as annoying or whatever?
What would you do?
Ta

Over a week and no contact? Call. Then get a timescale so you don't have to worry about phoning until he exceeds it.

When you first put it in you should get a time line from him. ie 3 days to check, 6 days for parts, 3 days to fit. 12 days total. On the 6th and 11th day you should call to make sure all is going as planned.
Mechanics aren't doing you any favours, they are being employed by you to do a job and do that job in a reasonable time.

Give the man a ring and tell him you need it for the weekend, otherwise yours will go to the back of the garage.

Did you find out which rotter did that?

That seems a downright dastardly thing to do to a poor Honda Express that wasn't even asking for it.

I sympathise with you. Don't know what I'd have done if someone did that to my old MZ 125 when I was using it to go to college every day aged 17, though to tell the truth I seized it myself a few times by being idiotic enough to run the oil tank empty!

Premix in some ways is a bit more foolproof.

Some questions really don't need to be put to the public vote.

I know, it was horrid Crying or Very sad
Someone attempted to steal it, i know, they must have been desperate! They broke the steering lock, but were thwarted by the huge chain that is worth more than the bike!
I MTFU and took a quick drive up there. He is still waiting on the barrel coming back from being re-barrel'd.
Cheers Thumbs Up

Daily calls whenever a vehicle is off road. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

I left a bike with chas bikes once and was told they'd have it sorted by next day if I left it with them.
They kept it there the best part of a week ('we're very busy at the moment its on the ramp, next bike in line') before telling me they couldn't find what was wrong with it and having me collect it!
Great service huh?

I'm in the same boat as the OP with the guy who's airbrushing my tank and both mudguards. He's had them since december.

I went round to his house a week last monday. Tank was done and he was halfway through the back mudguard. I told him I needed it for last sunday.

It's now thursday and he isn't answering his phone. I'll be going round there again before the weekend.
