Hi, My mate has stupidly put diesel in his gilera runner 50cc and we are wondering if there is a way of emptying the tank without the use of a pipe ur lungs. Silence Hand

If there is no other way the best option is to empty the tank (pipe it) and refill with unleaded and it will run init??

Respond asap Praying Praying Praying

Cheers homies

I'm not sure how those scooter things work, but can't you just take the pipe off the carb and allow the tank to drain into a container?

That's what I'd do on my bike anyway.

I had to swap my tank recently, so I removed the tap, removed the tank, replaced the tap, arranged the tank in a convenient place and opened the filler cap and fuel tap, with a container + funnel waiting under the tap. That got most of it out, then I shoogled the tank about outside to get a bit more out before I stripped the tank and binned it.

depends if he started running on it or not!

If its just int he tank and he was running on what was in the carb then it will be okay if you just drain the tank. if its been trying to run on it then you will have to drain the carb too.

so long as it has petrol and you try to start it enough times it should get going.

oh yeh i forgot that mopeds dont take any petrol to the carb untill you turn them over. as long as he didnt try to start it ignore my lastpost. but i would still put some in the tank and then swill that about and chuck it away.
