I cannot imagine tucking my jeans into my boots, but I suppose if you have huge ankle flappers it would make sense
As for the trousers riding up the legs when you are sat on the bike. The easy answer is... they are too short. Need a 32'' or more inside leg length I would guess. |

I always have my jeans tucked in to my boots, I wear Sidi Vertigo boots. The boots I had before were a right pain because my jeans didn't really fit properly and ended up hurting my calves but the Sidi boots have adjustable calves so you can just loosen them up to accomodate the jeans too. !
Personally, I ride with them tucked in because, as you said, feels vulnerable. If you come off and the jeans ride up that's bad news.
Also, if you move your leg a bit of the bottom of your jeans could well get snagged in the chain, even more bad news.
Just keep 'em tucked in. Don't worry about how aesthetically pleasing it looks, you're on a motorcycle, you're a badass and it's about safety. I'd take having my legs look a little silly each time I ride the bike over spending four months with legs that look like someone took a belt sander to them after having each bit of embedded gravel ripped out with tweezers by a Doctor.
Cheers! ! ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."

If you wear a Sam Brown belt and ride either a Teapot or an old 'Jelly Mould' style CBR, then it is acceptable to tuck your jeans into your boots. Your name will probably be Derek or Martin.
For all other persons, there is no excuse for such a crime against moto-fashion. I've been given special powers by the style police to stop any offending riders and beat them to death at the side of the road with a tyre lever.
This may seem a little harsh, but I think you'll all agree it's certainly fair.
For anyone who is anxious not to commit a fashion faux pas, please feel free to PM me your questions directly.

Dear Mr Gixer,
Is tucking your jeans into boots OK if you wear a T shirt with the sleeves cut off, a neckerchief and sunglasses that are too big?
Yours,

Jeans/Textiles over boots
Leathers in boots.
Anything else and the fashion police should be called immediately.
Jeans in race boots is only acceptable if you are loitering with the boots unfastened. ____________________ [Current Bikes - GSXR-750 K5 & C90-97 ] [Previous Bikes: Runner 125, YBR 125, GS500, Bandit 600, Hornet 600, ZX6R-99, C90-99, R1-99, XT600E-04, GSXR-750 K4, CRF250L '16] |

Dear Noob of Northants,
Thank you for your enquiry, I'm sure that finally coming out of the closet must be difficult for you, so I'm prepared to grant you a certain amount of leeway.
Whilst I'm certain that your stonewashed jeans (tucked into boots), jaunty neckerchief, stupid glasses and cut-off T-shirt were quite haute couture back in 1992, to the modern eye you simply look like a giant homo.
If you're going to try and carry off the 'muscle top' look, you do really need some muscle - white, palid (and slightly flabby looking) upper arms are not something which should be displayed. Get them covered up pronto!
As for the tucked in boots - please refer to my original comments. There's a tyre lever here with your name on it...... ____________________ Space Monkey #7
