I quite like the look of them. Thumbs Up

£5K then? Sort Of Want at that price, although I'm still not 100% convinced that they've sorted all of the issues out.

enjoy, I really like the look of them

discounts and interest free credit will wreck its used value though

I've had one for 12 months now and can honestly say I love the thing. Went to work on it today and did a detour on the way home, such a hoot. If I'm honest I like it better than my 98 zx6r, which is a bit long in the tooth now for road work, but ok for track days.

Enjoy it Thumbs Up

Thanks! I've already got a few journeys home from work planned with an extra 20 or 30 miles added on...

my job is office based but with LOADS of meetings and appointments in different places which kinda sucks. sometimes I might have to visit 3 or 4 clients in a day, and the thought of getting my leathers on and off 6 times in one day is just too much! and I reckon my trousers and shirt would get pretty creased stuffed under leathers.

not so bad if I know i'm having an office day, but otherwise I'll stick to the car.

Because of the trained being fcuked up yesterday I commuted to central London 66 miles each way on my black 2011 ER6F, filtering on the A12 wasn't much fun but the M11 and Essex part of A12 home was a hoot.
I normally do 17 miles each way to and from Station, 5.5k since July, still pleased with not viby at all. you can even see what's in the mirrors at (cough) the NSL.

Nice. I changed the fork springs and oil on mine at the first service, the bike was uncomfortably choppy over anything but the smoothest of roads, and as they were non adjustable, wasn't much I could do with the stock items. The Maxton items sorted things quite nicely, turned the green things into quite a pleasant all rounder.

It's up for sale, not sold yet, though I expect someone will buy it at that price.

To be fair, I'm not sure now much these discounts will affect 2nd hand values. Yes, 2 year old bikes might be a bit cheaper but go a bit older and demand might keep them up.

It's good time to buy new though, thats for sure.

And so far I know of 2 BCF members that were considering it.
I was just disagreeing with andy's blanket statement that discounts etc WOULD wreck it's resale value. Thumbs Up

Undoubtably. Especially when you throw in a warranty, makes sense a lot of the time.

With the amount of 0% interest offers available at the moment, now's as good a time as any to consider a new bike.

Whilst you can get a good low budget bike on eBay, Gumtree etc, if you happened to see a bike that would require a bit of finance on top, taking into account the interest (which can be as high as 17% and more!!), the amount you would pay on top would probably take you close enough to a brand new bike on 0% that you may as well just go new.

Hmm, fair point, I hadn't really looked at that way.

It does depend on your budget and wallet though. I'm considerably richer than yow, so finance deals secured on the bike don't particularly interest me - I'd be looking to buy outright up front, and for a discount that reflects the dealer getting their money now rather than over 3 years.

The dealer doesn't care if you buy on finance because they get there money up front from the finance company.

I bought my er6f on 0% and the guy said it didn't matter how I paid, I'd get the same deal regardless.

Yep, when I bought my busa from GW's. There was no deals other than what was shown (which were good anyway). No negotiations for money. With my Triumph I got the bodywork kit and a good trade in but they wouldn't negotiate on price. Maybe I'm just a shit haggler though!.

They can't be getting the full amount though - the "0%" deal we're getting means that we're paying the finance company more than they're paying the dealer, it doesn't make sense any other way.

I'd guess that the dealer needs to secure a certain number of finance deals to get a decent rate from the finance company, although I'd be surprised if they'd let a sale slip because of it.

Should I have some sort of aneurysm and buy my next bike from a dealer, I'll be sure to take a big wodge of cash, show it to them, then walk towards the door and see if their story changes. Wink
