When the temps hit in the 80s F, is there anyway to stop you sweating like a rapist? I imagine it gets crazy hot with boots, helmet, kevlar jeans on.

I have a vented helmet but I'm not sure how much difference this will make riding in central London. TBH I could see myself having to lose the jacket in extreme temps.

Anyone strap ice packs to themselves?

Most jackets have a removable lining. Wearing a colour other than black helps keep you cool. Helmet vents are about useless.

Most jackets have vents that you can open. Unzip as much as you feel safe doing. Kevlar lined jeans are a fair bit cooler than textile or leather. Depending on your tolerance for safety, ponder wearing knitted kevlar gloves rather than leather. You could even consider something a bit different like kevlar long johns under light trousers.

Last year I got a touch of heat-stroke during Summer (you remember, that week in May) and bought some Diadora Breeze ventilated boots.

https://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51AMFi9UymL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

They worked very well (on the half dozen or so occasions it was beneficial to wear them Doh!) letting in a nice cooling draft from slow speed that didn't become too intrusive even as the speed went up.

Or you could (quite seriously) get a pair of cheap boots and drill holes in them for summer use.

As a quick conversion* (couple of degrees accuracy, so good enough) :-

°C = Subtract 30 from °F then halve it
°F = Double °C then add 30

* Yes, I know it's not (°F - 32) x 5/9, but I can't do that in my head.

I've got a few designs for a light weight refrigerated jacket/pilowcase, operatating off 12v DC supply, utilising a micro climate HBP compressor aiming for about +10°C evaporating. https://www.termotek-ag.com/fileadmin/data/general/PDF/14-12-000X_Spec_SheetT.pdf, but haven't built a protoype yet, as been to busy moving an ice cream factory for last 2 months + Breakdowns.

I can't believe people are 'too hot' at about 15C in March.
France in August is too hot when it's 39C, but even that is OK-ish when you are moving.

Anything above 30c you need to be doing 50mph+ permanently to keep cool.

Buy a open face lid, wear some non biking leather gloves, get a gear leather cover for your non biking shoes, shorts and poly wicking top, and Summer neck thing and away you go ...

Don,t go over 60 and have awesome hazard awareness.

I ride a 125 .. Cool

Awww man.

Black leather is cool enough for 80c.

Just live with it Wink

Either that or go with a Summer jacket that peeps sometimes wear Smile

TBH, A nice, Black, Leather Jacket, unzipped halfway should be enough for coolness, both as in 'Cool' and 'Cool' as in temperature Thumbs Up

Just wear shorts and T-shirt, and dont fasten your helmet up either - keeps your head a bit cooler with the air rushing up the sides. Wink

Sandals are also a necessity. Thumbs Up

I think it's rather heat from engine which affects the rider. So avoiding big engine bike with lower fairing should work.
