Didn't get out on the bike at the weekend but took it to work today and it handles like it's on rails, what a difference a few degrees rise in temperature makes to the rubber.

Have been using it over the past 3 weeks and it was starting to knock my confidence, felt like the bike was trying to chuck me off on the bends but totally different story today.

Anyone else noticed the difference over the weekend? It's phenomenal!

Yes. It was so much nicer when the roads were quieter. Folded arms

I await the posts about how there is no season and real bikers ride all year round Rolling Eyes

However, yes, it does make quite a difference. I have race scrubs on my bike and on cold wet roads in January they're a bit slippery to say the least but fun in their own way. I locked up the front wheel at about 90mph at Snetterton the other day on stone cold tyres leaving a 3 metre long skidmark...god knows how I didn't crash Shocked

I was out on Sunday with the advanced riding club, ended up doing about 200-250 miles and my rear tyre got a nice workout, it's so low now you can barely see that there was ever tread in the centre of the tyre and the shoulders are blistered very badly! Laughing!

It is lovely when it warms up, find some nice quiet roads and blast along. It's still fun in winter but you can't work the bike as hard and it's just too bloody cold! Laughing!

Glad to see it warming up though, was around 20 degrees Celsius all day Sunday, very nice! Thumbs Up!

The season has started and it has started early.

My Z is unfortunately sorned as I only tax it April - September, never been an issue before, but this year.....

No issues though I have 2 bikes and I don't normally take my ER on long runs so it was great to do so.

Was in Devil's on Sunday, then Ingleton, Hawes, Layburn, Ripon, Harrogate, Skipton etc. Cracking ride.

The only issue I have is confidence at this time of the year, I have spent the last 5 months virtually upright and now I am having to start hanging off again.

I agree with Greg. Riding in late winter was a lot more fun since there was a lot more to bite you in your arse. The roads were full of bikers this weekend which was nice, but some had really severe ring rust!

It's nice that you don't have to wait 5 miles before your rear tyre warms up. The suspension was a lot more compliant as well. I suppose if you're smooth in winter, come spring and summer, you'll be smooth and quick - you just open the throttle a lot earlier because you can.

I was 2 up with my best mate on the back and I certainly wouldn't have liked to be doing it 2-3 weeks ago!

Just keep it rubber side down and sunny side up, that's all.

what with fuel being so expensive now, they'll be less sunday drivers on the road which means that bikers who go out irrespective will get the benefit of good weather, good grip and emptyish roads.

That caused a real life lol Laughing

The inside of my leathers was less of a skidmark, more of an inkblot.
