hello everyone. I did some work on the bike 2 days ago. I bought a pair of this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290624702860?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 for my fazer. I didn't notice that the end was different to my previous indicators, so I cut the old one off, cut the new one, wire them together and the job was done. they worked fine. flashing faster then usual but it was ok. Also the bike turned on fine and was running with no problems. this morning I tried to turn it on but no luck. here is a video with what happens when I try: .https://www.youtube.com/v/XFYNASjmRWQ?version=3&hl=en_GB First of all the alarm will not work. I've even replaced the battery on the remote but nothing. as you can see the light turns on but the usual 2 beeps don't come on. second the usual sound of the fuel going into the engine is not there either, I can hear just a feeble click near the seat. third I've notice that only the front and back left indicators work now, the right one will not work or if I try to use the hazard light they will not work either. I've disconnected them all and try to stat the bike but nada.. same thing. seems like the alarm or the immobilizer are blocked. I just don't get why the bike was working 2 days ago and now this.... the engine light flashes as you can see. If you need any more details please let me know. thanks for your help

The bike won't start because its not getting any fuel. There is a problem with the fuel pump.

My bet is that you've managed to blow a fuse, so I'd check those first.

EDIT:

It's also possible that you've 'spiked' the alarm, so it might not be disarming properly as you say. Check out the Datatool website for details on how to 'despike' the alarm.

thanks for you reply. I found the instruction on despike the alarm on the datatool I will try this afternoon after work. About the fuel pump fuse, do you have any idea where is located? I'm new at this Embarassed 1 last thing I forgot to mention. I changed the air filter with a new oe from K&N. Could this be related to it in any way? (I don't think so) Thanks again.

I've changed the fuses. all of them just to be sure. one was blown. don't remember which one. now this is what happened: I pushed the alarm and I heard a beep. so I thought it was going to work. Then nothing. exactly the same as in the video. So i recheck all the fuses but now they are all fine. the alarm no beeping at all as before. It's crazy. I suppose it must be the alarm. I opened it the other day try to follow the procedure to reset it but it's not for me... the all bloody thing inside is merged into a black plastic rubber which is impossible to take off. I think I will have to push the bike all the way to the dealer. DAMN!!

so the end this topic... I finally pushed the bike to the garage to have it fixed. I suspected it was the alarm. left the bike there and went back after a day. they guy told me it was the alarm, so what he did was to cut the positive cable going to the battery and the bike worked again... I told him about despike it but he didn't seem to know what I was talking about. So now I have a 250£ alarm sitting inside my bike for nothing. To cut the cable cost me 55£... the ironic thing was that he was telling me that the person who installed the alarm did a shit job in the way he mounted it... I pointed out to him that the alarm was bought and installed at their garage few years before...
This morning while fixing my indicators I found a little rubbery box next to the main box alarm and connected to with from the same red cable which he cut at the end. I'll try to post a picture asap.. I opened it and I found a fuse inside... blown. I bet that if I had known about this fuse and changed it the alarm would have worked again without cutting the cable or having to push the bike or having to fork out 55 quid! I've changed the fuse and I will try to find instructions on how reconnect the cable to see what happens. if it works, they will never see me at the garage again... any comment on this is more then welcome. thank you
