Based upon the evidence that you have provided, I would estimate that he was travelling at a speed of approx 107MPH.

Going on that estimation and the distance of the moon from the earth last night I would say its prolly nearer to 109.3mph.

Don't ride at over 100mph on our 3rd world standard public roads then, and you won't come off your Raleigh Grifter and skin your knee like your mate just did. Sleeping

Hope your friend gets better - on the plus side if he's capable of worrying about his bike and asking you to shift it, it probably isn't as bad as it looks.

A cursory googling and glance over some studies seems to show that about 50mph can see you sliding 130-140 feet, 50m is about 160 foot, so probably in the ballpark of 60-70mph would do it with the right conditions? really that's pretty much a guess though as it's impossible to even give a rough estimate for a specific accident without an awful lot more detail.

Strangely, I just posted a link to the fable in a different Warped thread.
(The one about him being driven around in a Pug/Hyundai rally car).

I'd like to think that Warped really isn't low enough to make up stories like this, but I expect I'll probably be proved wrong.

Oh, we'd all like to believe that no one could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.

It'll be the usual stuff, he'll kick off about how we can fingertag his facetwits if we don't believe him, then there'll be blurry pictures of a bent bike in a dark shed, some "I don't care what you think" posturing then when the attention dies down, he'll have to up the ante and say his mum was eaten by a rhino.

Seems it was worse than first thought.
Hope it all goes well for him.

As for you other lot. I hope that you never have to see a mate like that, and then have to caller there parent/OH and tell them the bad news.
