So thinking of getting a bike this summer again, and running quote for various bikes i want.

Since i reached 21 ive never really paid over £500 for insurance, and wouldnt really want to, out of principle.

Nearly every bike i quote for is 750-1000 ??

25 years old 5 years NCB same house as before.

Insurance has almost tripled in price ?

Bikes im quoting for are Ducati 749/999, Honda SP1, Aprilia RSV1000, ZX10R etc.

Considering i HAD a Ducati 749S at 19 with 1NCB for £950 Sad

I thought car insurance had gotten expensive, my 350Z is a hell of alot cheaper to insure than these and i have less car NCB.

Guess ill stick with the 350Z for the summer Sad

I've found Go Compare to be the best website to use. It quotes from loads of places and it is easiy to tweak quotes for the best price.

iv pretty much decided if i can find a nice ZX6R or CB600RR ill buy one and sell my 748 later.

Iv looked everywhere and the best price for the 748 i got is £790, but i can insure a 2006 ZX6R for £453, nearly £350 more expensive to insure the duke! though the zx6r is group 15 and the ducati is 16..

Correcto. Or maybe not correcto. Maybe you just secured a decent price back then when things were a bit softer in the market.

Unfortunately, times are tough in motor insurance markets.

Wave, when I do the comparison sites, Bennetts are usually best for me. I get a online quote then see what they can do over the phone, generally stick with the online quote but last year over the phone worked out better for me, as they can cut bits out here and there.

Shocked wow, that's not cheap at all, I pay 57GBP per year for my 400cc bike and my 550 costed 107GBP Confused I've got some bonuses on my CB1, every year you don't have a insured event they give you some discount. Normaly I shloud pay 70GBP for my CB1.

GB really knows how to suck out money from peoples wallets Confused

I'm lazy so using eBikes pay as you go for the moment.

However that has doubled in the last six months - conditions are exactly the same, same bike/security etc.

Insurance is getting crazy.

I looked at this but they wanted like £700 for the year, where elsewhere it was £100. So for 2 months of the pay as you go I could be insured for a year Laughing

Just dont have the money, especially while forking out for new tyres. Sad
