Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with the cheap kevlar jeans available on ebay. When i first started out i wanted a pair but they were really expensive, now it seems they can be had for as little as £40 plus P + P.

I know they aren't going to offer as good protection as leathers but i surely they must be better than a pair of normal jeans.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks

Harry.

Not coming off in them, no. I bought a cheap pair of cargos though. Yes, they've got kevlar in them, coverage is OK, but it's cheaper woven rather than knitted, so liable to tearing.

I'd suggest trying to score a pair of used Sartso, Hood or Draggin' jeans within your budget instead. My Draggin' jeans are very well constructed of good quality denim, with knitted kevlar (although annoyingly no armour pockets, I had to make my own).

I'm the same as Roger /\

Have a pair of cargo kevlar jeans from ebay, decent coverage from the knees bending around the top of your legs to your hips. Haven't come off with them yet but imagine they'd do the job well. Pockets for hip and knee armour as well Thumbs Up

Draggin jeans are good but come up really big.. the smallest size (8) is too big for me which is a joke yeally as I am a size 10.

So I am yet to find decent ones that fit.

I bought some kevlar jeans off ebay for £65 from Australian bikers, which i know a few people off here have got as well.

They came with knee and hip armour and the coverage of kevlar isn't too bad either.
Although the knee armour never stays in the right place when I'm on the bike. Always ends up sitting on top of my thigh, so is pretty much useless for protecting your knees. Laughing

I think with cheap ones you won't know how good they are until you come off. Once the single stitched seams have ripped and you're left with perfectly preserved lengths of kevlar and denim, and lots of gravel inside your thigh, you'll know you should have spent the extra £50.

Price doesnt reflect quality, brand names reflect price.

True, but well known names are generally well known because they've built up a reputation. You might get lucky with a cheap unknown brand, you might not, you pay the money to know what reputation you're getting.

Not true at all. I can think of hundreds of brand names which make poor products. A lot of budget things these days are made in the same factory as their similar branded products, you just pay the premium for the little label/logo on the product.
