Thanks for that, located a new, never fitted tyre on ebay not far off his route, but the thing is he's not likely to get there til early hours then have to get up to scour the local area for places to get it fitted before they all close at midday!! ____________________ The light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train! |

Most bike dealers (as opposed to tyre dealers) dont stock tyres even when located in remote areas relying on overnight carriers to get them the tyre tomorrow (unhelpful if its at the weekend) I found this out when I got a terminal puncture in Scotland last year, AA were confident they'd get me a tyre tomorrow (last about 5pm when I got the puncture) so they put me up in a Travel lodge rather than relay me the 350 miles, tried till about 11am the next day and finally gave up then booked me a hire car throu their onward travel clause and got my bike back home 2 days later
Still had a nice nights sleep rather than against the window in a truck, brekkie thrown in and I spent an extra day up there as I wouldnt have been able to work without the bike even if I had of driven home straight away. ____________________ The light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train! |

Thanks for replies and eggs for posting. I'm using phone so can't do the karma thing yet.
The tyre wasn't so bad when I left home yesterday lunchtime but 800 miles later it's looking a bit fucked.
Just woken in not so sunny scotland and time to start my tyre ringing quest. I'm not holding my breath. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? I got a tyre at the very helpful Honda dealer. Ecosse I think they're called.
Couldn't fit it on a sat though but they did give me numbers of 2 places that might be able to do it.
Collins who were obviously going out the Way to be as unhelpful as possible and aberdeen tyres who were helpful but definately lacking in many places but leaving the wheel spindle clamp bolts undone and letting me leave with it was probably my favourite.
The not taking off of the caliper before trying to tug the wheel out was a good one despite me already telling him it would have to come off. I can only assume he was put off by the smoke from his ciggie. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse?
