I took my mod2 test last week and this was booked in St Helens what a place to do the test, i have not been there before untill my test date, I was called by the examiner and we did the questions before setting off
when out on the test the examiner followed me in his car with a head set on, during the test i had a feeling that i have maid a few minor points but the one i was not happy with was at a set of lights i was the first in line and the lights turned green but the filter light did not light up ( over here some filter lights come on later ) the lights turned back to red so i thought the ligts was not working so i went on the next green light when on the way back the examiner said turn right when i was half way past the turn so i turned right at the lights but i saw him turn right before the lights he said over the radio turn round and come back this way.
i was waiting at the lights tu head beck then he said i dont know were you are just make your way back to the test centre.
if i didnt see the cones on my left i would have not known were the test centre was.

I have no idea what happened on your test. Paint diagram?

Are you sitting on your own 125? If so, just book it yourself. Clicky. You want "Bike -> Standard Bike Mod 2", there's no need to get an instructor or training school involved unless you want to. Just turn up and pass. You can keep checking back to try and get a cancellation, I managed to get one for the next morning after passing Mod 1.

If you're sitting DAS on a training school bike then you'll have to go through them to ensure availability of a bike and instructor to escort you to the test centre.

Mate that sounds a bit unlucky. Not your fault you don't know the area. What a prick for riding off without you. He should have at least waited. Don't get put off you failed first time round, it's a very good way of finding out your weaknesses.

I failed my first time and blamed the examiner for everything, but looking back I was not ready for it. Just try to practise all that areas that he's marked you down and you should get it next time.

If I was you i'd go round the area loads and download the test routes off the internet. I think they have to publish them these days.

Good luck Smile Thumbs Up

I'd recommend you always make sure you know the area you're going to be taking your test in.

There's often lots of different things which may not be straightforward, roundabouts with weird lanes, strange double-junctions and stuff. Always helps to have an idea of the area then you won't get stuck on the test.

Good luck for next time though, but make sure you do an area recce before your next attempt Smile

That's why you failed, in bold.

Filter lights only come on when you have right of way to turn don't they!?

IE if traffic isn't coming the other way. So they may come on when the main signal is red, or they may come on when the main signal is green, but only when other traffic is held by a red light

If the green light comes on, but not the filter light, you move forwards (past the white line) to the turning point and wait for a gap that you can safely cross in to. Sometimes it means waiting at the turning point until the traffic lights are back on red again, at this point you ride away. Thumbs Up

Green light means proceed with caution, and can do that if turning, but filter light is a right of way light?

I know how they work and all that, but is what I'm thinking there correct?
