Rebuilt the carb on my fiat 500 and seem to have done something wrong.

It's now reving like mad at idle. Idle adjuster seems to do nothing, any ideas where I could've gone wrong?

Throttle cable is fine, as is the choke cable.

Doubt it, air leaks are almost part of the design on these old things!

Just had a thought, looking at pics it may be that I have the throttle linkage attached incorrectly. I'm not 100% that is the problem as it still appeared to open, close correctly. But, I'll try it and see.

Shame my garage is a 15 min walk away Sad

Well, like a knob I'd managed to put the throttle link on the wrong way round. Switched it round the right way, adjusted the idle and the throttle stop and all is good.

Still a bit wheezy when running at full throttle, will adjust and try again during the week. In general though the rebuild has made a massive difference, nice and quiet, doesn't try to stall at idle.

Next, the fuel pump as it still tries to stall when facing up hill.
