On the face of it, that's an 82/83 Z550Gp (they were never officially called GPz).
In 1981 they were twin shock and by 1984 they had the full on box section swinger, along with funkier bodywork.
Nice bike then, faster than a lot of contemporary 650s and could keep up with many 750s.
Having said that, none of the bodywork looks like it fits properly, so it could be something else trying to be a GPz (I think there was an ordinary Z550 for a short while).
Oh, and it hasn't got enough front brakes. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........

thats the answer I was after. the left hand rear side panel is made from sheet steel!! quite a good job mind but if I was to sell it i would want to describe it correctly as the right model.
I'll try to find the frame no tomorrow that should maybe clear tings up a bit? ____________________ Hyosung cruise 125(passed test on, sold) Kawasaki el 252 (better than expected but sold on) Kawasaki GPZ500S first "big"bike.(sold) ZZR600 E5..Z750 2007,ER5, currently on a 2008 Enfield bullet electra x and loving it..
