Received the fruits of a rainy ride up to Richmond, Yorkshire a few months ago.
https://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc21/thedonuk/IMG_0460-1.jpg
Pair of Hogg All-weather microlites.
First impressions are good, the fit is as good as i would expect from being measured, they feel comfortable to walk in (Vibram sole), moderate ankle protection, hard around the gear lever area, and the extra lift i had them put in give me a new perspective on the world
Aswell as feeling quite pleasant to walk in, standing on the narrow stock pegs on my XT the sole seems nice and rigid.
What they replace, my knackered Sidi B2's and an old pair of workboots, hopefully they will combine the function of both.

I like the tongue design, being part of the boot, and they dont seem as hot/sweaty as i had feared, comfortable in the 19-20 degrees we have had today, also comfortable wearing around the house..
They sent some leder-gris wax with the boots, apply that now from new or?
Time will tell if they are as good as they seem, but i'm quite happy with them. ____________________ [Current Bikes - GSXR-750 K5 & C90-97 ] [Previous Bikes: Runner 125, YBR 125, GS500, Bandit 600, Hornet 600, ZX6R-99, C90-99, R1-99, XT600E-04, GSXR-750 K4, CRF250L '16] |

The heel of the sidi's is exaggerated.
Possibly a half size difference as i think the Alt-Bergs were 9.5 and the sidi's 10's... ____________________ [Current Bikes - GSXR-750 K5 & C90-97 ] [Previous Bikes: Runner 125, YBR 125, GS500, Bandit 600, Hornet 600, ZX6R-99, C90-99, R1-99, XT600E-04, GSXR-750 K4, CRF250L '16] |

Quite nice, i opted for the thicker sole, so my foot placement for up-shifts i need to adjust slightly.
The leather above the ankle is quite supple so i cant imagine problems even if i was still on a sportsbike,
And as sturdy as they feel, they are lighter than they look.
As i said the sole feels nicely stiff when standing on the pegs.
Only negative is lacing up takes longer than any of my other boots... ____________________ [Current Bikes - GSXR-750 K5 & C90-97 ] [Previous Bikes: Runner 125, YBR 125, GS500, Bandit 600, Hornet 600, ZX6R-99, C90-99, R1-99, XT600E-04, GSXR-750 K4, CRF250L '16] |

As above, I've read of comedy falls (on here) due to poor obs/management on the laces Done it to myself on my push bike too [/quote]
Not so bad on a bicycle, but on a m/bike at speed! Not funny at all! |

Maybe with trainers, but these lace all the way up, so the laces would have to first work loose from a double butterfly style knot, then slip their way out of 3 levels of fastners then slip out of my jeans.
If they manage that they deserve to trip me up ____________________ [Current Bikes - GSXR-750 K5 & C90-97 ] [Previous Bikes: Runner 125, YBR 125, GS500, Bandit 600, Hornet 600, ZX6R-99, C90-99, R1-99, XT600E-04, GSXR-750 K4, CRF250L '16] |

I just sold my £175 Altbergs to my brother (for £80), barely used. Beware of their sizes...I don't know if my case was typical but the size 12's I got by post were more like a very (very) small size 11. Even after they stretched them for me they were still too small. Bearing in mind that while I'm a size 12 I have been very comfortable in Caterpillar size 11's in the past. If I ever bought another pair I'd choose size 14's. ____________________ "There's the horizon! Ride hard, ride fast and cut down all who stand in your way!" |

If they come unfastened you can end up getting tied to the brake lever or footpeg! |
Well the best thing is to make sure your mummy teaches you how to fasten your laces properly then, and then practice, practice, practice till you manage to keep them tightly bound together.
Sheesh!
Clanger, wearer of laced boots since the beginning of own biking history.
Don: a couple of my other biker mates, have had Alt-Berg's made to fit, with extra leg length, and they swear by them, say they are amazing and lightweight and easy to use on the bike, plus the fact they are good for walking around too.
Probably visit Richmond, Yorkshire myself sometime, as I prefer to wear these type of boots myself. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

I've had a couple of scares with laces and motor-sikkles. ____________________ "There's the horizon! Ride hard, ride fast and cut down all who stand in your way!" |

I'm told you can have fitting done/ try some models on at Silvermans surplus store over in east London.
I did the ride up to Richmond because i wanted the best fit, rather than me measuring by post. And if i'm honest i was a bit disappointed by the service in the factory, its hyped into something it perhaps is not.... i was not measured by some knowledgeable old bootmaker, given pearls of wisdom etc.
It was a guy my age, i was in and out in about 10-20 mins, but then i knew what model i wanted i just had not considered they could add a lift to the sole.
That said, having the finished product they fit well, used them in the rain today, walking in ankle deep puddles pushing the bike, now i am home, feet are totally dry, and warm. Which i think is more important than being pampered over in store.
Of all the things we spend 170 quid on these will be one of the better investments i suspect. ____________________ [Current Bikes - GSXR-750 K5 & C90-97 ] [Previous Bikes: Runner 125, YBR 125, GS500, Bandit 600, Hornet 600, ZX6R-99, C90-99, R1-99, XT600E-04, GSXR-750 K4, CRF250L '16] |
