here is my problem... few weeks ago I started to notice that the front headlight sometimes was going off. If I pulled the cable near the left switch box would eventually come back. Now things are getting worse. The indicators sometimes work sometime they don't. The high-beam light goes on/off all a bit random. Do you guys think could just be a cable somewhere or do I need to replace he whole left switch box (which are bloody expensive!!) thank you
I've found this one https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390153476757&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:GB:1123 that fits the 2004 model. does anyone know if it will fit the 2005? thank you

Update: I've found out that 2004 2005 2006 left switch are all the same. Before I buy one I'd like to have an advice if anyone knows about this issue. Currently the headlight is gone, the high beam indicator light on my panel is always on (sometimes turn itself off) even if the high beam button is off. I've check all the connection but they look fine. now.. if I put the motorbike ignition in ON position, with the engine OFF: headlight not working, parklight not working indicators working. When i turn the engine ON: Headlight still OFF, indicators work for 2 to 5 seconds then OFF. Will not work again. WTF is happening? Evil or Very Mad Mad

I'd follow the cables and see where they go... see if there are any tears or bad connections.

Have you considered a TDM?

I bet it isn't the switch. I had a similar sounding problem on my TDM, I thought it was the switch. Instead of of just replacing it I actually tested mine Wink It was fine. Turned out it was a dodgy connection under the tank.

If I was you I would take off the fairings take off the tank and take of the airbox. One by one go through all the electrical connectors you can find and clean them up with WD40/High Pressure brake/carb cleaner. Check that all the pins are making good contact then pack with contact grease/Vaseline.

I found the problematic connection and I had to twist one of the blade pins to make a better connection.

Since I imagine the TDM/Faser have similar looms I suggest you start with a large connector under the airbox at the front of the bike. Mine had 16 connections in it and one was dodgy. You might not have to bugger about with all the others then although cleaning the connections can't hurt. Test each one after cleaning to see if it fixes the problem that way when it happens again you know where to go.

I've ordered a multimeter, let's see what comes out. What I don't get is, if it was a faulty cable then why the indicators work for 4/5 seconds and then stop? they should not work at all or work until I move the bike but they will stop even if the bike is standing still (engine ON) Last night coming back to work the headlight was working again so just to give it a try I decided to push the flashing headlight button... the end: headlight out of service. It reinforce in me the idea that it could really be the switch box. seems like I will have to learn electrics Embarassed quickly
