Anyone on BCF got one?

What do you think, what bike did you have before it and did the 675 live up to your expectations?

What do you think of the motor, chassis, suspension etc?

what don't you like?

I've read all the tests etc and have a test ride booked but would like to hear from anyone with experience of one cos this just might be my last bike.

Cheers,

OGR

Yes I have one -

https://img10.imageshack.us/img10/7232/20120321154253.jpg

I 'downgraded', and I use the term loosly, from my busa to this as I wanted something that was more fun, without worrying about it killing you when you got a bit heavy handed.

The motor is a peach. It has such a linear power delivery from 2000 - 11000 that you have to try very hard to be in the wrong gear.

I have the R version so the suspension is way beyond my knowledge of setting up. I had it done by one of theose firms at a track day. Well worth it as it was very hard whan I got it.

The chassis is the same as the Daytona, so again, I'm never going to exceed it, I'm not that good a rider.

I love it to be honest. I did wonder if I would regret not getting the bigger speed, but I don't. I am probably faster on it than I was on my busa (except on motorways etc, of course) as it is so easy to ride quickly.

Front brakes are brilliant, back isn't so hot, though I haven't heard this is a problem so I wonder if I have contaminated my back pads witc something.

Do I regret getting it, no, not at all.

Things I don't like. Well the under seat exhausts stop you having throw overs so I've bought Ventura expensive stuff. The seat isn't soft so I bought a Triumph gel seat. Don't bother it's not that much better.

Will I keep it, yes, till I can convince the missus that I NEED a Triumph Tiger explorer.

Oh, and the super dragon corsas it came with are brilliant, but the backs gone in 2500 miles and that included running in.

And I thought the busa was bad on tyres Laughing

To keep it short, immense bike. Great motor that makes you think has more CC than it has. Its light and nimble too. The r has a more track focus than standard and is quite hard for the road unless you are out for a thrash all the time.

Out of all the bikes available at portimao the 675r and zx10r were constantly being fought over.

Yes I have one. The standard bike, but with Arrow end cans, small screen and bellypan. It's a fantastic bike, pulls well in all gears, handling is superb, and the sound of the engine when you wind it on is unbelievable.
What I don't like about the bike, no center stand which makes it a right pain for adjusting chains whilst away from the house and my paddock stand, and the other thing which would be useful which it doesn't have is hazard warning lights for when filtering. But those 2 things are really quite minor.
I got mine with the gel seat which I find is comfy enough and enabled me to come back from south Germany back to my house in Holland in one go (just fuel stops), around 700kms without any problems.
I had a 650 Bandit before and there just is no comparison. The Bandit was dull as ditch water compared with the Triumph.
So I would definitely recommend one.

I've got an R.

Yes, the suspension is a little bit hard, but I'll agree with Polarbear 100% when I say the engine and gearing are spot on. You don't really need any gear other than 2nd and 6th. Which is a shame as the gearchange on mine is a little bit baggy and I occasionally find false neutrals when shifting down through the box. However, mine has done 10,000 miles and does need a new chain and sprockets.

My previous bike was a Buell XB12S lightning, and to be honest I'd love to have it back... but there are lots of reasons why the Street is better. It has 6 gears, all of the fasteners are metric, its easier to clean and is built almost as well as any Japanese bike. The front brake on my bike is not as good as the Buell, but I think the pads might be a bit glazed, so I've bought some EBC HH's to replace them with.

I haven't quite fallen in love with the Street in the same way I did with the Buell, but that might be partially down to me having a lack of confidence after my accident. I can tell though that if I get the suspension sorted I will end up falling for it, as it has so many charms.

Yeah I'd love to have one as a second bike. I've ridden the outgoing 2010 speed 1050 and loved it; it's one of the major reasons I ended up with my Sprint as the engine is awesome.

The street gets better reviews than the speed, so I can't imagine I'll be disappointed.

Ive got an 'R' version. Other than being pants for pillions its great, no complaints. Ive travelled distances on it, done multiple track days on it, commuted on it and the usual just blasts out on it. Handles well, stops well, goes well, easy to handle.

The never ending reviews rave on about them for a good reason Smile

On a side note the forum is warning me that Ill be given bad karma if I dont remove the text message talk, whats wrong with what Ive written? Question

I was mighty tempted by this one today:

https://www.chrishallmotorcycles.co.uk/content/pages/used/used-bikes/2011-11-TRIUMPH-STREET-675cc/26435185.htm?YEAR=2011®LETTER=11&MAKE=TRIUMPH&MODEL=STREET&ENGINECC=675#

Way better in the steel too...

Went for the test ride on a standard street. Thought it was brilliant, felt a bit like a modern day YPVS. Light and chuckable and the engine felt spot on, doesn't have the top end rush of the Gixxer but was faster than I expected. The only thing I found dissappointing was the front brakes.

So what to do? Should I get the 09 plate bike I had my eye on?

Nah, pick up a brand spankers white 675R next weekend Very Happy
Good deal with nose fairing and belly pan thrown in, plus it comes as standard with lighweight wheels and my favourit Rosso Diablo Corsa tyres. It's gonna be a long week.

Presently up for sale at Palmers in london, where it broke down. Last straw, been a bad luck bike for me. If it finds a buyer quickly they'll leave it as it is (circa 4-5k of mods on it) but they might start putting it back to standard if it proves difficult to sell.

SAVE MY BIKE from standidarty. Incidentally they gave me a fair old whack for it Laughing
