That's about it. The tester has to be satisfied that the exhaust makes no more noise than the standard system in good condition. That kinda rules out all 'race' cans, going by the rules. Of course, if it came to it the tester would simply say it had a different silencer fitted when he tested it. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Hi
Yes, but if it is a stubby can then it is almost certainly well above the noise limit, so you are dependent on the deafness of the tester.
If you want a cure for insomnia here is some of the legislation on exhaust noise. The clause Every exhaust system and silencer shall be maintained in good and efficient working order and shall not be altered so as to increase the noise made by the escape of exhaust gases would seem to make any exhaust noisier than standard illegal (even if quieter than the legal limit).
All the best

I wonder how they will view my home-made exhaust? IT's definately 'standard' for the system ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Pipewerx cans are awesome m8, if you are worried about the GP3 not being legal then do what I did for my review and ask them for a legal version with wide outlet, if you get the DB killer from them it should keep it within reasonable levels regardless and without they sound wicked!
https://bikechatter.net/reviews/49-exhausts/1043-pipewerx-gp3-sl-custom-exhaust-review
Its a touch bigger than stubby, sounds figgin awesome and 100% legal, FWIW I dont think the Pipewerx race cans are stamped as Not For Road Use but it is worth asking them.
Also, they can be a PITA to get an email back from this time of year, best calling them ____________________ https://bikechatter.net

Don't worry about it.
I've had about 3 bikes MOT'd with loud cans, didn't even bother to put the baffle in and they've all passed. ____________________ CBT Passed: 30/08/2009, Theory Passed: 31/08/2010, Mod 1 Passed: 6/9/2010, Mod 2 Passed: 13/09/2010. Restriction ended 13/09/2012.

Carlos, I don't live too far from you and my tester calls loud cans a safety feature... Should see the one on his B12 bandit |

I had a carbon Pipe Werx endcan on the SV650S, absolutely fantastic, can't rate them highly enough. !
When it came to the MOT for my bike, it's got a full race system on it. The tester just asks I show him that I have the standard system, since I do he fails it, then passes it an couple of hours later so should anything happen he can say I brought it back with the standard exhaust on. That's what he says at least. ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."
