Hello all, well a mount on my front faring has cracked and want to glue it back on, it doesnt seem to take much weight.

So is there any glues out there that will glue it solid ? aridite and double bouble stuff just seem to stick on the surface not bite into the surfaces, any really evil stuff out there?

What about the glue guns the ones that melt the little sticks ?

Any ideas ?

Cheers

The answer is no. Most bike plastics are thermo-setting plastics that nothing will properly stick to. You need to weld it with a high temperature source (i.e. an old soldering iron)and use a piece of the same kind of plastic as a filler material.

Check youtube, there are a lot of videos demonstrating this.

old soldering iron and a cabletie, push the pieces together, use the soldering iron to make a v groove along the length of the cut then melt a cabletie into the gap.

Do it on the back btw, neater that way.

Cheers
John
