Been looking for some tyres for my track bike and decided to go for some new as plan on doin quite a few days this yr. I had some DIABLO supercorsa sc last year - scrubs, which I managed 3 trackdays on before they were done.
Got them for £60 so served me well. However, scrubs for anything pure track are more like 80-90 quid a pair now and condition questionable so thought id go for new. Out of chance I spotted a pair of dragon supercorsa pros for £189 brand new (been on shelf since feb 11)
seemed like a decent price - are these suitable track tyres? Theres that many sodding variations of pirelli im bit confused Confused

Is there sc and non sc variants also??? Bloke seemed confident they were sc1 and sc2 but cant see that anywhere on the tyre. just DOT branded.

I run in inters so as long as theyr good for that im happy????

Thumbs Up

I've used a few sets of the Dragons and i found the Diablo Supercorsas last way longer over them....
The Dragons would really tear themselves up especially the front on mine ..they also slide more but give good feedback so its pretty controllable.
I now use Dialblo Superbikes (slicks) on the because they are cheaper but they actually last longer again Thumbs Up only disadvantge is you can't really use them on the road once they're finished on track.

annoying thing i found with the dragons is due to thread pattern its difficult to tell wear level...especially as i use tyres right down to the end ...

The Diablo is just the next version of the Dragon (I think it goes Dragon Supercorsa, Dragon Supercorsa Pro, Diablo Supercorsa.)

Either should be fine - I was certainly fine racing (and road riding) on the Dragons a few years ago. However a quick google does show people reckon the Diablos are better in a few ways including longevity with no specific disadvantages listed.

im sure they will be fine , my only issue is the dragon supercorsa pro comes in street spec, then also compounded sc1/sc2 race spec. I bought the street spec under the impression they were the race spec ones! (lost the receipt to so no going back really).
So hoping the street specs will hold up well enough in inters or should i look to sell them on and get some diablos/racetecs??

I'd only be running slicks if i was front of the fast group.
Ive had pegs scraping at 100+ with bt-023s and PP 2ct's

ye ive no doubt they will have the outright grip at lean etc - its more are they going to sustain that grip for numerous sessions/heat cycles, or are they going to get too hot and start slipping sliding a lot quicker than a dedicated track tyre

They'll be absolutely fine - I wasn't troubling Diablo Corsa IIIs (road tyres) in the fast group - and can certainly use considerably more 'road' tyres at fast group pace fine.

The 'street' ones makes sense for trackdays as they should get a bit more life.
