Yup, after I binned the bandit, I genuinely thought I'd put away my helmet for good. And I sold all my shit, including my awesomely comfortable boots, and my yummy exhausts etc.

But then I got the itch again, and started hunting. I was looking at Thundercats, but then I ended up with this.

Picked this up of Boundy on the forum for £970, top bloke

Suzuki GSXR 600 1999 model, with just under 21,000k on the clock. Had one drop and resprayed in Alpha Romeo pearlescent Blule/Silver.

No MOT, and No Tax when I bought it, and the Rear Master Cylinder was shot. Got all that sorted for a grand total of £120

Did an oil change, fed her some fresh fuel, and off we went. And bloody hell did we go! Got some real pick up on it!

Insurance I managed to get down to £480 from initial quotes of about £1600, TPO

The only thing is, I think I had a teeny brake fluid leak, and it dripped onto the rear wheel. Then when I rode it, its flung out all over one side of the tyre.

I know brake fluid is corrosive, I mean, will I need to replace the rear tyre? Or is Brake fluid only really evil to paintwork?

As soon as I saw your photo of that bike I thought "I know where I've seen that before". It was next to the blue zx9r in his garage that I now own!

It's a beautiful bike up close!

I'll second boundy being a top bloke too!

dafuq?

Yeah, I know, spent about 4 days shopping around, I couldn't believe the prices at first. The only one under £1100 was Just Motorcycle Insurance, who were all the way at £500. Weird...

Nah, i sold that on ebay for a disappointing £400. All it needed was a front light and brake line. But hey what to do eh?

Now I need some boots! Anyone got any size 10s going cheap! Laughing

I don't get what you mean, are you saying brake fluid on tyres isn't the best thing, but doesn't warrant a replacement?

Brake fluid on the tyre is fine.

It will just come off when that bit of rubber comes in contact with the ground.

Just wipe off the excess and go from there.

Oh okay, thank god for that. I was reading up online and some people were saying it can cause the tyre rubber to harden and crack, but others were saying back in the day they even used it as tyre shine!

Sports bikes are no more for me, I'll stick to mud from now on.

And then some... Just booked myself some ferry tickets to take the blue beast over the Ireland on friday! The only thing left to do is sort the right hand fairing out, which will be done as soon as I'm back from Dublin.

Laughing never noticed that until you pointed it out just now! It is quite small, but I don't plan on dropping it any time soon. Don't think it sticks out far enough to offer any real protection.

I'm chuffed to bits with it. And with that colour scheme, its unique. Downside is I can't find any touch up paint for the small stone chips.

Any idea where i can get some Alpha Romeo T Spark blue for cheapz?

Its done to a surprisingly good finish too. I'm just worried about putting it throughthe same abuse as my bandit. I'm gonna have to invest in a cover or something seeing as I don't have a garage
