Nope

Pillion Pegs are only needed if you are carrying a pillion.

Hi

Afraid you need pillion pegs if you have a pillion seat.

Whether they would fail you if the pillion seat is covered it another question.

All the best

But if you have a rear cowl then you dont need pegs for an MOT.

Hmm, Seems to be mixed responses on this then? Smile

Ask the tester. Wink

I've had plenty of bikes pass with a single seat unit/cover and pillion pegs. Unsure on the actual MOT rule.

Good question, as strictly speaking there is still a pillion seat there, just with a cover lobbed on top of it.

But it is probably going to come down to how sensible the MOT tester is.

All the best

I had a cowl covering my rear seat, and I had the pillion pegs removed. That bike passed it's MOT every single year afterwards (some 9 years).

HTH. Thumbs Up

Had a cover on a few of my bikes and it passed with the pegs on. Go figure. Laughing

I can confirm that my bike passed it's MOT today with the single seat conversion on... and has done so for the last few years!

But I remember asking that if you have a seat pad on the back and no pegs, then they will advise you source some.

My pillion seat hardley gets used so the pegs get very stiff to move/ The bike filed an MOT because of this. They had to be free moving.
