Hi all. 1991 limited edition Bandit 400 import.

Have cleaned (inc new o-rings) and balanced the carbs, but couldn't get them all to line up.
I found 3 screws: left screw did cyl#1, right screw did cyl#4, and middle screw did them all. #2 and #3 are not lined up and didn't move with any screw but the middle one, and then they went together?
I followed the manual but to no avail.

Any ideas before I hand it over to Suzuki for £55?

The 1st screw balances number 1&2 together.. The 3rd one balances 3&4 together
The middle one balances them ALL together. 1&2 to 3&4
Thumbs Up

Thanks for the reply,

Any idea why the screws are not touching #2 and #3? When they are turned the dial for #1 or #4 moves, but the others stay the same?

Do you have the carbtune set up correctly.
1st pipe to no 1 carb
2nd pipe no 2 carb and so on.

You balance carbs a little turn at a time. It take me about 2-5 mins to do them, but if you have never done it about 10 mins id say.

the screw between 1&2 will balance those 2
the screw between 3&4 will balance those 2
the one in the middle will balance 1&2 in line with 3&4

Under the screw and locknut you will have a plunger with a spring round if. Make sure its not stuck.

The reason they are not directly connected is because they are on the throttle mechanism. As said, balance 1 & 2 together first (with the screw in between them). Make sure they are at the same level. Then go ahead and balance 3 & 4 again, to the same level with the screw in between. Then you balance both pairs together with the screw between 2 & 3.

Thanks guys, helpful comments!

The pic is what we got it to, which doesnt look to bad exept nothing we do adjusts the middle two. So we balanced 1 and 4 to them? The poilt screws have been messed with so need to re-set them also.

I'll try it again this weekend (when friend with tuner is around).
It may be that the springs are stuck and only adjusting one carb at a time? I did give them a proper clean, but not those screws. Afraid to mess the settings up too much really.

Will keep posted,
Thanks again.

Hey Confused
I have explained how to balance the carbs mate. There is 3 and only 3 phillips screws on the linkage for the carbs.

I think you must be doing something wrong imo.
