i can only find carbs for the newer cg125s, i cant find any for my 1991 cg, does anyone know where i can get one from ???????,

as my accelerator pump is playing up.

the bike will tick over then after a couple of mins it will cut out, if you mess with the accelerator pump when ticking over it sometimes revs up and seems like something is sticking. i am pretty sure the reason why it cuts out after a couple of mins is because of the accelerator pump,

when riding along the bike runs spot on its just when its on tick over it cuts out.

but if anyone could let me know where i could get a carb from would be great

any advice would be helpfull

many thanks

Sure it just doesn't need cleaning?
Take the float bowl of and have a look, if there is sediment in the bowl, give the carb a good clean out, including the jets etc.

Pilot jet or diaphragm on your carb..Are you sure the needle jets, floats, emulsion tubes are all ok with no wear on them?
Sometimes cleaning just dont do it.

I am not complelty sure on this one but isn't the accerator pump on the side of the carb only used on 3/4+ throttle to insert extra fuel? This is why the throttle cable is split into two with the other part of the cable going into the needle.

If it's having trouble ticking over I would first suggest adjusting the idle screw and air/fuel mixture screw. If this dosn't fix the problem, you will need to open the carb up and clean the idle jet which is really easy to do on a CG.

Is there a make/model number on your carb? What makes you think that a newer model one won't fit or work? Air goes in, fuel goes in, air+fuel come out, they don't really get much simpler.

NRP in Manchester sell replacement accelerator pump diaphragms if yours is holed.

Last time I had trouble with an accelerator pump it was because I had left out a tiny O ring between the carb body and float bowl when I had it apart.

i've had trouble with the carb ever since i got the bike, coming to mension it there isnt even an o ring there, never has been, also there is a crack in the bottom of the fuel bowl. its near the screw to drain the fuel but for some reason it never leaks Confused

some weeks the bike will run great and then all of a sudden play up. i set of to work today and got half way and broke down, it wouldnt go over 20mph as if it was starving for fuel. and all of a sudden it just came to a stop, after trying to attempt to start it a few times i took the plug out and it was totally dry, so to me there is no fuel there. choke was of

i must admit the bike has never played up as bad as this. the bike wont even start now. still a good spark there

it is the original carb,

i have bought a new one today it is for the newer cg 125 but it will still fit.
