I am aware that this may be a silly question, but I have to ask!

I have a pot of leather grease which I managed to get thrown in when I bought my leather trousers from Hein Gericke.

What exactly does it do? Will it make my leathers waterproof or something?

It looks like hair styling wax and I'm not sure how I should apply it. Won't it make my leathers all...well...greasy?!

Sorry if I'm being thick! Embarassed

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it conditions and feeds the leather helping it retain it's strength and flexibility. It does leave them greasy initially but soon soaks in and after about 24 hours it completely dissapears.

No instructions on the tub?

If not, I apply my stuff with a small sponge. Simply press the sponge into the wax so theres a small amount on the sponge (just like a visible shine on the sponge not loads on there), then simply rub into the leather all over.

Let it dry and thats it. Just like I say don't use to much. Take care round the seam's etc and get it in all the little stitching holes etc and this will help stop water coming through though won't make them waterproof, more splash proof.

I would rub it in with my fingers, the heat from you hand will make the stuff melt and soak into the leather better. That is how I apply nikwax to my leathers, I assume the stuff you have is similar.
