Eh, so someone has sprayed markings around my bike. I'm pretty sure they weren't there when I parked it. Anyone know what it could be please? Council or something?

Could be thief scout marking up possible stuff to nick tonight. I'd move the bike (pref chain it to something solid... in fact that's a good idea long term) or add a few extra locks.

Or maybe it's a thoughtful neighbour who's marked out an area for your bike so that they don't nick "your spot".

Why do you park the bike sticking as far out into the road as it'll go? Thinking

But yeah, that is odd...

Are you sure that you didn't run over someone when you parked there? Those markings look like they could have been put there by the cops whilst investigating a fatal.

I usually park like that if there is little space. It gives more room for other cars to park.

Agreed. Add to the fact it does work out safer. Where I park there is not enough spaces for the vehicles so parking the bike like that means I get sandwiched between 2 cars, passing people do not seem to notice the bike parked there like that.

It looks like there were some road repairs to the left oof your bike, it could be they plan to do more where the markings are.

Can't quite tell from the picture, may need a closer one because I think you are missing a fence post.

It makes the bike more visible as well. It lets anyone pulling in see your bike before there right in front of it.

The most feasible answer is its something to do with the road maintenance. Quite often the different colours and lines mean different services running beneath the road under the markings. EG: Yellow for Cable TV, Red for Electric wires, blue for Water pipes.

Might be wrong though.

Still prefer my way Very Happy If they're dozy enough not to see my bike when parking, they're dozy enough not to see it sticking out - at least when parking they're already going pretty slowly Very Happy Just seems to me you're taking up a crazy amount of the carriageway - less so on a 125 I guess them being smaller.

More to point why park it front in given any road camber will help the bike to roll off the stand...
Makes getting out a lot harder as you have to push the bike out into the traffic.

This too, just don't get that. That said, the kerb should help aid against rolling off.

You could reverse in and be 'nose out' which make the camber work for you.

Also be easier pulling away, perhaps incorporating a small wheelie and a cry of 'Wheeeeeeee'

The markings indicate buried services under the road. Normal survey procedure, nothing to worry about mate.
