No VIC check, not even 100% it needs an MOT...

Just fix it up and go. Some may argue it needs an MOT (im not 100% on legal side, but for safety sake I would anyway)

cheers patrick, thats what most people say on the searches iv found. its easy to re frame it either way but id just got it back on the road and would rather ride it for rest of summer and rebuild it over next winter.

ther should be a good 6months test left so dont want to do another i know it will pass but thats not the point.

Why reframe? Hornet?

Any damage to frame is usually cat b.

hornet ,nah mate its an sv lol.

and if it is as simple as fix and carry on riding then thats lovely, but
if it needed some form of inspection and piss about with insurance and all that crap i would just get a frame for 80 quid off ebay with logbook and plate then rebuild the bike.

but if what you say is correct and i can just fix the damage and no more needs to be done then thats what il do.

iv just got it back on road after alot of work and tarting it up and i know its a brilliant runner so really want to keep it shes an old sv but shes like a 2nd child.

Hm, not sure about this. I was advised (on here) to re-MOT my cat-c to 'take off' the cat-c as it were. Then at the MOT centre the tester said 'Just had this, why you back? Selling it on?' and I said 'No, got cat-c'ed and want it clearing'. He said 'Fair'. Now he may have just wanted the £30 but I guess he'd have said 'Eh?' if it wasn't needed.

Also the insurance dude delayed cat-c'ing my bike so I could collect it and ride it home... So I assume an ANPR on the plate would show as a write off. He did say I needed MOT and a VIC though, so he didn't get it all right...

edit; Actually in my thread I'd already MOT'ed it so it isn't at all conclusive - people just said I'd done what I needed... possibly just ignore me, but I think you do still need MOT... Very Happy
