Well, I quite agree, but what's set you off?

I always feel sad when I don't get the side nod from other riders when I've just side nodded them myself. I think it's L plate snobbery the wankers.

L plated or not, I'm part of the fraternity, man!

For the last 3 years, I've worked in two different professions where giving a wave to fellow professionals is a compulsory part of the day while on the road (neither of which is a bus driver) and the only other time I've been on the road except that is on the bike. Imagine my UTTER joy when I realised we all nod amongst each other too. It's lovely. It also means that when you get off and happen upon another biker you can be pleasant instead of pretend that unknown person doesn't exist.
The nods are important, brothers.

I'm amazed at how American I feel right now.

Not only do I nod to learners, I even move over and let them pass when they filter faster than me. Not often I see the same one twice though?

I've often wondered about the bus drivers' nods. If there's another bus driver there they don't get on with, do they still nod? Go easy on me, I've had time to think whilst on buses.

I exchanged nods earlier today for the first time, if it wasn't for reading about it in places like this I wouldn't know - I might interpret it as 'your headlight isn't on' or suchlike..

My head's been bobbing up and down all day today. Clocked up 80+ miles in the Peak District and happened upon many fellow bikers. Loved it. (Except the raging coldness of the wind though)
