I kno I know, not another oil post. anyway..my bike only does 500KM till it needs replacing, is this normal.

Will my UK spec bike come with miles on the dash or will it be in KM??

is you bike new? like your running it in??
if it is it will usually chew up more oil and petrol in this phase.
And to be honest if it isnt maybe you have a leak? or your bike is pumping too much oil into the cylinder.
Just a thought...

Yeah, mine does about the same, its an import from Holland. I asked the guys when I came into my first service, they said the bike was fine. It smokes like mad when I start it up. Its costing me a fortune too, I use Castrol TTS @10.49, is this the best oil?

the stuff i use is castrol TT i think and thats 5.49 a litre.
Quite good stuff doesnt smell too bad and is at the price i want to pay for a fully sythetic oil.

I use Motul! It's green, not red and smells of mint. Shocked

It's special formula is supposed to reduce smoke. Of course, my bike don't smoke anyways!!! Laughing

Whats the best oil to use if you've got a pretty old engine done about 40,000 KM?? Oh and the engines been running on mineral oil up until now! Confused
