ignition fault honda cb400 super four "93"

bike was running then costom the bike to cafe racer , now not running all wiring checked out ignition switch flickers when turned on , got to play with the key to get all on , everything comes on but no spark , is there a common fault with these switches ??, This is doing my head in now as bike was ready for MOT , now this happens, fuses etc all ok , please help !, thanks, dave

Sounds like you need a new ignition switch. Might be worth looking underneath to see if the contacts have been messed about with by some potential tea-leaf.

hi thanks but no one has messed with it turn it on then you have to play with it to get it to stop on , i think the switch is capput, but there are so many for this model mine has a block con and a red wire bullet con to it and second hand ones are rare , cheers , dave

Also, you might be able to swap the bottom part of your original switch to one that doesn't have the extra wire.

hi, the bike must be an import as the speedo is in Km, will have anothe rlook and get back to you tomorow, night, dave
