So, if you were the judge presiding over the Anders Breivik case, what would your sentence be??

Lock him in a room with the parents and give the parents a weapon of choice.

I can't understand how he's still alive TBH. Surely one of those victims' parents must have the contacts and wherewithall to fund him a horrible death?

It'd be over far too fast!!

In my opinion it should be very slow. Very painful. So bad he must be begging to be allowed to die. For days. No, weeks. No MONTHS!!! Evil or Very Mad

I'm not big on long drawn out deaths, perhaps I have mellowed as I have grown older, who knows, but I would rather him dead than have it drag on. Torturing him would make us no better than him. A quick death, completely unremarkable death, and then forgotten about with only the families of those he murdered to carry the memory of the man.

The guy is a fanatical and we would only make him a martyr for all the sicko's in the world by drawing his death out.

There was a commendatory on the killings last night, when the police got to the island he at first refused to obey commands. That is when they should of finished it off.
The sentence that he most dreads is the one he should get and that is being judged as in need of psychiatric treatment.

As a parent I say stake him down in a pug pen, cover his head with 'lady-pig' smells and let the boars fuck his brains out then eat him.

As an impartial and therefore more rational person however I think a lifetime spent in a psyciatric hospital would be more appropriate, with the 'foreign' staff actively keeping him alive as long as possible...

Hopefully he has to suffer.

Who cares if we are no better than him, cunt wouldn't be in that situation if he didn't murder over 60 innocent children / teenagers.

Watched the documentary on it last night, proper fuck up.

Thumbs Up

Life sentence. Real life, not 'out in ten years for good behaviour' life.

Put him in prison, throw away the key.

I think that there was no doubt at the time that he was both guilty and a threat to the wounded, survivors and police who would attempt to arrest him. I'd have had a sniper blow his head off, incinerate the body and dump the ashes somewhere secret.
He did what he did to make a political statement and become famous. I'd have done whatever i could to make sure he got to do neither.

Giving him a trial now just give him chance to continue to become famous and preach his political beliefs. Whilst I would give him a trial it would be very short and to the point. Get him to admit the killings give him one chance to justify himself or whatever then get the fuck rid of him. I'd probably sentence him to life in prison, solitary confinement without visitors, and not bother spending any money feeding him or cleaning out his cell. Lock him in a room and forever close the door turning him into a human schrodinger's cat.

Set up some cameras, invite him to make a speech to the families and the world explaining why he did it, then shoot him in the back of the head the instant he opens his mouth. The cameras aren't running.

The worst thing for him is for us to forget him. Not be intersted in his cause.

Oh!, and rename him Honeybuns.

Everyone remembers the killers, nobody remembers the victims.

The sentence he should have got was never having his name or face released to the public, be tried in secret with a false name and sent to prison for the rest of his life in solitary with the World never having known about him or his stupid ideals whilst the victims be shown on National Television and listed, such that a yearly 2 minute silence is held so everybody knows them and he should be forced to observe this silence year on year.

That is the best punishment, the one he should have gotten.

As soon as he pulled the Nazi salute stunt today he should have been dragged back to the cells for contempt and tried in his absence. He is using the trial to voice his views and he no longer has the right to do so.

Hi

Difficult to say.

I would suggest that someone going on a killing spree of random people with zero connection to them is pretty much by definition insane.

Quite interesting (although possibly reporter bias) that of the interviews with relatives of victims there doesn't seem to have been any wish for revenge.

All the best

Keith

It wasn't a Nazi salute.

IMHO 'God squad' has very little, if anything at all to do with it, it seems like the Norwegians as a whole are a very forgiving people. Remarkable really.

I reckon he'll be locked up indefinitely, no parole etc. Can't see them giving the death penalty.

So how does him being mutilated help anyone? Satisfaction for the people unaffected by the crime, to voice their 'painful justice' and show how you're as bad as he is minus the action itself? Mind you, he didnt torture anyone (though the families will be emotionally scarred) he just ended their existence.

Actually funny how vengeance/humanities reactions paint those of us either side of the law as equals.

If anyone cared/thought about it properly, they'd have a small chance of understanding why the norwegians dont seem to have such reactions as yourselves. Killing him does nothing, putting him in prison does nothing. Causing him horrific pain does nothing ultimately.

Oh wait, it will help those of you that think a reaction of equal or higher gravitas is necessary to feel better - a selfish response with a shortlived, shallow reward of 'feeling better about the person you lost'.

Why is killing 77 people worse than killing one person?

I dont put a ton of value on human life, when in the scheme of things we're but a mote of dust in a galaxy of nothing, but confronted by this kind of senseless (to us) violence and loss of life, educated people feel the need to describe in detail how they'd pay him back, with glee in their tones.

Says more about us than him.

He's destroyed lives, and theres nothing we can do to make it any better. What is justice? There isnt any real justice.

(Totes growing up, sucks ass)
