To add to rac3r's in pictures.
Picked mine up Saturday, new STR in pearlescent white. The reason I got it was to try and get a more balanced rider experience. Going out on the Gixxer 750k7 was getting to the stage where if I wasn't thrapping it everywhere I wasn't enjoying it, what do you do when cruising at 100+ gets boring? Go faster? Like my lad said it would only end up 2 ways, on a slab or in chokey.
Right, the STr. Done about 270 miles on it so still running in. Comfort wise it's a world away from the gixxer. It felt spot on as soon as I sat on it
Chassis is superb, it feels so tight and planted but really light and flickable (weighs a wacking 30kg less than a Z750, another bike I tried). Comes with Rosso Corsa tyres as standard so no issues there ( already had a knee down Smile. I've knocked 2 clicks of compression off all round as I thought it was a bit firm, will mess about more when everythings bedded in, but its pretty close as standard.
The brakes are excellent (4 pot Nissin radials). I know what rac3r means about the standard ones, I thought the same when I took the demo bike out. Bet rolling stoppies will be a doddle.
Engine wise I haven't given it any yet but on the demo bike I did. Its just a seamless building of power from any revs in any gear. Doesn't have the top end kick of the Gixxer but feels fast in a different way. The noise is so good I've stopped wearing ear plugs for the minute.
Can't think of anything I don't like so far, hopefully it will give me what I've been looking for for a while. I think it will, its just like a 4stroke powervalve Very Happy

Imagine a man that watches The Only Way Is Essex, then uses it's catchphrases in general conversation.

To add to that - now understand that no-one in Essex* had ever used that 'phrase' until The Only Way Is Essex sullied our screens.

*Note - They may have done so in Brentwood to be fair, but Brentwood is weird - Harlow and Grays fall under the same category.

Ive had my st 6 months and covered 6k on it,been a fantastic bike added a daytona rear shock and some blue flames with the map and its changed the bike loads.but im getting the itch for a gixxer750 or fireblade im only 36 so im not past it yet.prob is i use my triple everyday rain or shine.
Had a sit on my mates zx10r and seat was very hard and wide pushed my testees right up.lol
so im guessing you will prob advise against the gsxr?just that my mates all have liter sports and im suffering windblast like a mofo above 120.

No, the gixxer is a great bike that begs to be ridden hard but its pretty boring and uncomfortable at legal speeds.

This is the reason why a striple is next on my list.

I just need another couple of grand, next year, maybe.

Exactly why I got my striple. I was going to get a jail term the speeds I used to do on my busa. My striple gets uncomfortable about a ton. Yes, still licence eating speeds but not a go straigt to jail scenario.

That said, it encourages the hooligan in you Twisted Evil
