Hey

Just sold my Tiger and am now looking for another bike. Unsure of what I actually want though Confused

Looking for something fun (and lighter than the Tiger!). Would be used to commute once or twice a week (only a few miles), and for weekend fun sometimes with the missus on the back (so needs to be able to pull well 2 up).

Have a budget of 2400 quid only. And in or as close to Birmingham as possible.

Had a lot of bikes before (check my sig) , so would prefer something I havent had.

Any suggestions welcome Thumbs Up

How about a BMW F65- dammit! It might be easier to list the bikes that you haven't had: I reckon you must have spent more on insurance admin fees than I've spent on bikes. Wink

I was going to suggest an RF900 but you've had one Laughing

You could try finding a GTS1000, something a bit different and plenty of poke too.

Got it!

Meet your next bike... the BMW R1100S. I've ridden my dads a couple of times and it is fantastic, he's toured through Wales with my sister on the back with no issues, and he uses it every single day on his commute, again with no issues.

Plus it appears to come with the boxes and racks which are worth a bit, and open pipes which sound amazing. Honestly not heard many better bikes than my dads.

You can thank me later.

Nothing, if u compare them to a Street Triple they are inferior yes, however I've just bought an 04 with 6900 miles on the clock, 1 owner for 2750 and it's like buying a new bike, I think I'm going to have some fun on it too. If I had the money I'd have a Triple, but I don't think there's a lot wrong with a Z750, u can do upgrades for the supposed weak brakes & front forks!!

I'd say for the budget they're a good buy!!

Personally I'll never buy a bike with the main feature being that it is 'cheap'. I'd rather a decent bike with decent kit with a load more miles on.

With that logic everyone will be on chinky bikes.

From what I have read and people I have spoke to the Z750 is the worst in it's class, Go for a fazer or Hornet instead.

As for comparing it with the Street trip it would be apt as they are similar bikes with the Striple only £200 dearer.

I meant that for his Budget its a realistic choice, not that its a cheap bike lol. As you have mentioned a few of the components are budget but I dont think its a shocking bike in terms of quality, ive never seen people who have had them slate them. Maybe this guy just wants to try something different?

Fazers are great bikes, but then every man and his dog has one..
Hornets are a good option tho and they seem to be getting more popular too
