Today I striped my scooter down to clean the frame up and protect it with WD ready for the winter. I took my airfilter off and noticed that on the top of my carb where the throttle goes in to the main jet, the casing is broken. Its like the plastic feeder at the top which holds the cable in place. As far as i know its been like that since I got the scooter but now i kno about it, its starting to worry me. Is it worth me replacing the part, are they easy to get hold of?

Also.. What is good for cleaning K&N air filters?

Water and a bit of fairy liquid. Allow to dry and lightly oil with some thin oil.

K&N say you should only use their cleaning kits, however this is probably so they can screw some more cash out of you Wink the kits are not expensive though.

Yea, i saw their cleaning kits. I think its just a scam to rip us off a bit more. My filter was all oiley and gritted up so ive soaked it in soapy water, dried it out and sprayed it with a bit of carb cleaner. Ive also striped down ma carb, glued the bit that was broken back on, adjusted the circlip on the main jet down 1 notch and cleaned my whole system out. I can now get 5mph more top end. Very Happy
Im going to check my plug in a few days, and depending on weather its black or not, ill put my carb settings back to how they were.
Can adjusting the circlip do any harm to the engine Confused ?
