I dont see anything major coming out of it, they are hardly likely to be producing an Audi bike anytime soon Laughing

I would have prefered it stayed Italian. Dukes aren't really my sort of bike (twins and expensive Laughing ) but they have a certain style. Audis are just........................German!

Laughing

You know what I mean.

The kept the good bits of Lamborghini (looks, V12s) and changed the bits that didn't work (bits falling off, appalling rear visibility, crap air con). Let's hope they do the same with Ducati.

Would be interesting, hardly like it hasn't been done before.

Obviously was only in offroad applications however a system tuned for onroad use could be interesting if made to work well.

I can't really see why they're bothering. It seems like a vanity purchase, they're unlikely to change anything - same bikes, same numbers, just in a different set of accounts.

You taking bets?
CEO of Bentley is Wolfgang Durheimer, previously head of BMW motorcycle division and the guy that moved them towards performance bikes. He is also Motorsports Director for VW group. VW are really pushing for a presence in Motorsports but with so many brands under one roof they risk competing against themselves resulting in a win & lose every time. To get around this they are considering diversifying, taking various brands into different motorsports.

VW are cash rich, $20 billion profit last year and already reporting record growth in the first quater of this year. They buy because they can.

Here's a suggested logo for them. As you can see, I've incorporated the ethos of resurgent German / Italian co-operation, and Audi's 4-circle logo merged with the 2 wheels of Ducati.

Apparently they will be doing the Panigale and revamping the rest of the range, so we will have
The Panigale

The 848

The 848 Street fighter

The Multistrada

The Hypermotard
https://ugc.ducati.kontain.com/photo/20111116/prod_fbf840d8-8fd5-44b3-b9ff-a1159e0402c7/tb_1920x1080.jpg

The Monster

Now they may all look similar, but Audi have assured me, they are all different and styled differently, and the Panigale may be replaced at some point with a newer model which looks like this
https://ugc.ducati.kontain.com/photo/20111116/prod_fbf840d8-8fd5-44b3-b9ff-a1159e0402c7/tb_1920x1080.jpg

Specs:
All have DTRLS

Will now be ridden by everyone

Diesel variants on the way

Guidance system which will allow you to sit 2 metres from the bike in front of you

Deflection system which will use a reverse gravitational pull to push any oncoming traffic away when you pull out and don't check your blind spot/shoulder check, the bike will take care of this for you.

To be honest, I reserve judgement
