Darley Moor, anyone done a trackday there?

Hi Guys & Girls
just wondering if anyone has done a tracday at Darley Moor near Ashbourne? I live at Leek,Staffs so its just a short trip away, went and watched some racing up there last year. Is it worth a punt? Or am I better off just going to Donny or Oulton? Cheers all happy easter

There's a Track Day at Darley on the 20th, road bikes only, it looks like quite a low key affair, free tea and coffee all day and just round the corner! I'm going to give it a go, after my Oulton 'taster', it will be my first proper all day do...

Only ever been to spectate a race meeting.

However, after listening to a couple of other people on trackdays, they claim that it's a fab track, for both novices and experienced riders. They said that even though it looks like a triangle, it rides totally different and is way more fun than you'd imagine.

The only thing to watch is that you need treaded tyres, a 98db exhaust and apparently 'no race machines' and no race numbers either (although I feel that a bit of tape could cure that ) I also think you can't use tyrewarmers (but I can't 100% confirm that)

Another point to remember, is that there are no pit garages either and I don't think there are many electrical points either.

I've raced there several times and really like the place. Simple to learn but hard to go really fast.

I think its important to support the less well known circuits. Use em or lose em.

Might come down see what's going on, I will be in the car tho as I doubt im going to get the garage time to get my bike sorted out!

Just out of interest does anyone live round here (im in Leek) always see loads of bikes about but never anyone to talk to / ride with. Only lived here about a year!
