The ride home from work tonight was probably the most comfortable and relaxed I've ever felt in any situation in any respect. It was actually very weird. The only problem I could see was that I didn't feel the need to concentrate in the slightest...
The engine felt smooth as fuck, the ride felt incredibly light and airy, and yet the grip felt utterly solid. It didn't feel like I was even touching the handle bars, and it certainly didn't feel like I was turning them. All I felt like I was doing was wiggling my ass a bit and the bike would just follow whatever shape the road was in. If I pulled slightly on the throttle it went to precisely the speed I wanted and in very smooth motion and if I let go of it, it slowed down at the perfect rate. 50mph felt as cool and calm as 20 didn't even particularly notice wind resistance... it was fucking weird man. Felt so nice though that I took a 10 mile detour home just to relish in it.

I prefer the second reply to the first. And therefore I shall imagine only the second one was posted...!

You've probably had a stroke, check in the mirror to see if your face is sagging at all.

Any chance you've clocked up something like 10,000 miles on your bike? "They" reckon that's how long it takes really build the automatic reflexes so that you can ride without having to think about everything you're doing as you do it, with the result that suddenly it's all just happening for you.

Or you had a strong tailwind Wink

The majority of your description sounds as if you're getting to the point of starting to ride subconsciously, which often happens with a certain amount of experience...

But "I didn't feel the need to concentrate in the slightest..." probably means that unless you make a positive effort to concentrate, hornetmike is going to be proved correct

Sounds like you were in 'the zone', a heightened stage of conciousness where your mind is totally focused on what you are doing, nice one. Had it several times, you're more likely to die thinking about what a shit day you had at work than being in this state so enjoy it.

The OPs post caused a vague sense of recollection within me, then I read this line: 'All I felt like I was doing was wiggling my ass a bit', and it hit me.

I test rode a friends CBR125R after doing some work on it for him a short while ago, and it was so small that it began to slip between my cheeks. I too experienced a sense of being at one with the motorcycle, I figured this was from actually being one with the motorcycle, as it was attached to me via my rectum.

You go on to say you experienced a lightened zen like experience during your ride. This was most likely from the motorcycle gently caressing the male G-spot located in your arse, causing the body to release endorphins and produce the mental state you experienced.

I unfortunately did not ride the CBR long enough to experience that state, will have to borrow a CBR again and go for a ten mile detour. Wink

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I pictured a wave, a huge wave with drum beats, dark waves and a horse. Drum beats, the beats stay with me, boom, boom, boom.

On the Guiness there Minh?

For the reocrd despite the abuse peple have hurled when the subject has come up in the past - yes I know what you mean. And Vehicle Zen does quite nicely cover it.

I had a ride like that once after a trip to the dentist... turned out he'd given me so much stuff to numb what ever he was doing that I didn't know what was going on any more. Still the bike felt great and I passed out in my riding gear when I got home.

My thoughts exactly.

A similar mass of hogs rode past me in Derbyshire yesterday (specifically Castleton). So forgive my cynicism towards the unqualified.
