I'm am totally soaked and can't feel my knees due to the cold... but am clutching in my hand a mod 1 pass certificate Very Happy

Rode down to Leicester from Nottingham (about 40milles each way) to do it this morning and have somehow lost my waterproof over trousers and now know that my textile trousers are definitely not waterproof. No minors and I took the test on my old, rusty, 4 speed cg125 and made 53 on both speed traps Very Happy

I know it's my first post but I've been reading through the forum a lot over the past month, so thanks to all the people who have given other people advice about the test as I've used it all to my advantage.

Some replies:

Cooked meat would've been a really nice way to warm up, shame I didn't manage to read this before heading off to work!

Yes it was Wigston, for anyone attending they conduct the tests from a perspex shed down the road from the actual test centre, luckily one of the driving instructors pointed me in the right direction.

Yes the A46, A606... then got slightly lost and fortunately found the A6, for some reason Leicester always confuses me.

MOD 2 will be booked soon, I figure I may as well go and have a bash at it while I'm on a roll and I'm not really sure what bike to get, I'm quite fickle so my 'ideal' bike changes daily.

Go for it! And I know the feeling about being fickle. I spend far too much time looking at eBay and gumtree for projects I don't have the time or space for...

and now I have my mod 2 pass certificate!

Passed both first time on my trusty little CG, didn't take any tuition as I honestly didn't believe I needed any, anyway...

New bike options! I think I want something along the lines of a F650, Pegaso, Transalp, KLE, Versys, XT, that kind of thing. Obviously it will have to be restricted and as I don't yet have any ncb the lowest insurance group would also be good. I'm not totally sure how much I have to spend, I guess the CG is worth 500 and I could probably rustle up 1500, so between 1500 and 2000 seems likely.

So has anyone got any suggestions beyond what these, or experiences of them and how they cope with being restricted... basically anything that can help in my decision making process Smile
