Just did a quick search for a PDF version of the CB500 989 reg manual ive been using but it's not working for me :S

if anyone just knows the grade of oil I need I would very much appreciate it Smile

If 989 stands for the year 1998, then you can use 10w30 or 10w40

same as every other four stroke running in the UK

i use asda 10-40 semi synthetic it does the job its cheap and you can get it while doing a weekly shop cant ask for more lol

loads of people buy overpriced oils that give no real world bennifit Very Happy
just get what works

10W40 for every newer 4-stroke machine, old air cooled bikes require denser oil, like 20W50. Motul 5100 would be great for your honda.

my fat fingers are pissing me off damn it!!!

hmm might have to give this asda shizzle a look or i could buy some halfords oil with my trade card Smile whatever im passing I guess

I use halfords 10w40 motorcycle oil in my CB500 and seems fine Thumbs Up

Haynes manual says 10W30.
Everyone uses 10W40.
