Honda CB500 Oil?

Just did a quick search for a PDF version of the CB500 989 reg manual ive been using but it's not working for me :S

if anyone just knows the grade of oil I need I would very much appreciate it

If 989 stands for the year 1998, then you can use 10w30 or 10w40

same as every other four stroke running in the UK

i use asda 10-40 semi synthetic it does the job its cheap and you can get it while doing a weekly shop cant ask for more lol

loads of people buy overpriced oils that give no real world bennifit
just get what works

10W40 for every newer 4-stroke machine, old air cooled bikes require denser oil, like 20W50. Motul 5100 would be great for your honda.

Haynes manual says 10W30.
Everyone uses 10W40.
