I've got a 2002 hornet, and i know there is a loop under the seat where you can put a wire through it to strap your helmet to it.

The thread is whether anyone has any idea where you can buy these wires? I've been carrying my helmet with me everywhere and it would be a real convenience if i could leave it with my bike.

Cheers,
Tom Thumbs Up

I wouldn't leave my helmet with the bike. Can't trust people not to touch/take/damage it.

I'd imagine it's the same as the one on my cbr, you insert the key and twist and the loop drops down allowing you to pop the DD over the loop, then it locks back into place securely.

That is if it works, which it never seems to on any of the bikes I've owned!

Well on my GS the loop under the seat was close enough to the edge for the DD's to go through, whereas on the hornet it's just a small hole which presumably the wire goes through. The tool kit supposedly has one in it, but my bike didn't come with one -.-

I still have the toolkit for mine and it has a wire with it. It's just a loop of thin wire with a plastic casing over most of it. you could get the wire from a DIY shop, I'm looking at it now, it's nothing special.

I never use mine, but I assume you push it through the strap of your helmet and fold it back on itself, then hook it on the luggage hooks that fold out from under the seat?
