Unlucky, just get a replacement. I always carry my tax disc in my pocket, well nearly always. Laughing

This.

I got some prick biker cop giving me a £60 fine for not displaying a £15 tax disc.

I was young and naive and believed that telling the police the truth he'd likely give me the benefit of the doubt that "I had just got my bike jacket for my birthday and I had left it in my other one".

I was nothing but polite all the way through and actually aspired to join the police at that point.

He was annoyed because he thought he had got me for no L plates on my CG (I had a full licence but was 17 at the time). I know this because the first thing that was said when I was stopped was "so who's the one with the full licence then?!??!"

One of the greatest lessons I was ever taught.

Always lie to the police if you can get out of something. Also always bear in mind that there are reasonable ones and jobsworths. judge each one as they come.

Traffic cops let me off for 75 in a 60 recently.
