One insurance company may be cheap for one person but expensive for another, just plod ya details into a comparison website, and give the top 3 a ring, see if they will out do each others quote.

Maybe try https://www.thebikeinsurer.co.uk/

Carole Nash seems like a decent company to me, I was with them for two years and had no real problems, plus you get breakdown cover for free which is nice.

gocompare seem to give the lowest quotes for me, not by much
compared to other comparison sites, but usually around £30 cheaper than say the cheapest on confused.com

Think they get less commission so the quotes are lower.

Better in your pocket than theirs, no?

Hardly free, but at a reasonable price.

From a comparison site I got £93 for TPO, with carol nash with the
'extras' I got £160 odd but when you take in to account the breakdown
cover, legal policy, the free DNA+ kit etc etc its quite competitive, that's
if you have the need for all the extras.

Although a legal policy you can get for free, similar breakdown cover, which
includes accident recovery (most don't) can be had for £52 from the likes
of startrescue.co.uk

My first bike was insured with hastings direct, brought brand new and stolen with-in 3 weeks Sad but they did get my pay out to me with-in 3 weeks of the incident.
Only problem i had was their first valuation was at ⅓ the price i paid (£1400 paid - £425 offered), after I called up and said not a chance I was apologised to and told they had no idea how that amount had been came to and offered me the whole £1400 minus my excess.
So in the end very happy.

My second bike which was stolen 2 months ago was with KGM Insurance. Purchased 11 months before it was stolen for £1500, and was offered straight out £1500 (Yes the exact same as I paid for it nearly a year before, But I did pay stupidly low amount). This cheque I got with-in 2-3 weeks, so again very happy.

My gorgeous new baby I shall be insuring with Hastings Direct, as soon as I pass my MOD2 on Wednesday.
So either of them would be my recommendation from personal experience.

When I was looking for quotes when I was a learner they were cheaper, but come to think of it they weren't when I had my bigger bike.

Its not free... Its built into the price and if you cancel mid term, they will dock that amount in full from any refund. Same with legal protection etc.....

WTF people pay for legal protection is beyond me. If you have a crash. There are more than enough better co's that do the job for free, than the co's that you get passed onto....

The first bike was a Pulse Rage 125, A bike styled automatic scooter:
https://i00.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/103512570/Pulse_Rage125_125cc_Scooter.jpg
Was a fun little first time bike, but was simply picked up by two blokes and put in the back of a van and off they went (Neighbour saw this happen at around 3am), that one had disk lock and a heavy chain.
Second one was a Kymco KR Sport:
https://www.elliottmc.co.uk/assets/0000/0920/KRsport.jpg
Which was chained to a ground anchor, and they simple came along and snipped it off, and off they went.
Ive actually built myself a driveway with locking gates, + my locks on the actual bike for my new baby now.

You know that you should declare that mod to any insurer, and that they'll rape the arse off of you because of it, right?

A lot of people don't though, and I suspect you'll be one of them.

If you do intend to declare fully, I'd suggest looking at eBikeInsurance, who don't apply crazy loadings for non-performance mods.
