I feel you will get a bashing for outright asking our opinion without inputting anything into the forum, but heres my views.

Airbag mounted in leather motorcycle trouser

No, Leathers aren't waterproof, so pretty useless for my commuting.

Airbag mounted in every day style jeans

Again no, same reason as above

Airbag mounted in designer style leather trousers

No

Airbag mounted in nylon motorcycle rousers

Nylon? Correct me if im wrong but wont nylon just disintegrate when slid down concrete?

An airbag that can be worn under clothing by being strapped to the users legs

Hell No. Motorbike gear is enough of a hassle as it is, let along with extras strapped to my legs

An airbag that can be worn over clothing by being strapped to the users legs

No, for all sorts of reasons.

I just make sure my trousers are very tight around the ankles and waist so airbag trousers would be unnecessary as in the event of an impending accident my massive uncontrolled release of gas and faeces should rapidly inflate them anyway.

Wouldn't leg airbags force more of your upper body into the ground when you fall off? Suppose your legs are nice and safe while your upper body is getting a pummelling.

I don't like the idea.

Do you have any designs?

Are you going to keep asking the same question over and over until you get the answer that you want? If so, just pretend that you've already got it, it's what professional marketeers do.

You clearly have noot done any research into the most common injuries sustained by motorcyclists in a crash or how current PPE works.

An airbag around your legs is the last thing you need.

I have case studied thousands of crashes just in relation to the injuries sustained and how PPE works and either contributed to minimising the severity of the injuries or contributed to making the actual injuries worse, and which is why I am used as a consultant by some of the big names in motorcycle clothing.

I suggest you do some homework before coming on here asking for opinions on something that is niether a serious option or a considered piece of protection

Unless you crash into a swimming pool.. then you have a a self inflating pool noodle that will hold you upside down in the water until you drown...

Hmm it seems you point is still valid....

Ah ha... How about if you crash in front of a group of small children at a party, who had just been let down by their bouncy castle supplier ??

That my friend is when you will need a self inflating airbag trouser..

Very Happy

Interesting...

So could you list a good set up head to toe that would be the ultimate in PPE protection? Be interested to see what the best set up would cost.

Thanks.

Try the Piston Heads forum, they're an intelligent bunch and up for anything. We here are just far too serious for your inflated kecks horse crap.

Seriously though, why? What the shit is your thesis behind such incredible inventions? As others have pointed out - it's just a bad idea for a safety product. A really bad idea.

Air bag helmet - now THAT'S a fucking cash cow. Show me the air bag helmet, then we'll talk.

Oh hang on...

Ha ha, I pressed reply on a topic about 30mins ago while watching tv and now realise that I have no clue what I am now replying to.

I refuse to go back and check because i've had a mexican night and been drinking desperados all night so am going to just guess.

So....Don't do it... You are better than that, buy a 98 r1 and your good. If your not buying a bike then get a bike and shut up. If there's something wrong with your bike then i feel sorry for you because that sucks.

Wish it wasn't raining because i haven't ridden in a while.

Bring on the hangover.

Your project will obviously be a disaster as you have not researched into it and im guessing it was the first thing that came to mind.

There is no need for airbags in trousers. We already have protective armor that will probably do the same job as an airbag. Either way its too much of a fuss. Wearing bike gear is hard enough without this crap.
