Let's think about this.

Airbags+Testes=Bad Times.

7 - I wouldn't, you're wasting your time trying to design any such thing. Considering the number of riders who ride wearing denims (the chocolate teapot of protection), I'd imagine that the target market will be absolutely minimal.

For context, I do actually own a Hit Air airbag vest, but can't for the life of me recall the last time I wore it. I should probably sell it on to some horse rider, they need it a lot more than me. Wink

Strapped to the legs sounds dangerous and I'm guessing whatever you are wearing over them won't expand enough for the air bag to inflate?

back and shoulders i can see the purpose of, to prevent or reduce the chances of severe spinal injuries, which could paralyse.

a broken leg will stop you walking for a while, a broken back could stop you walking ever again.

a broken leg won't kill you (aside from the bone marrow blood clot threat), a broken neck could.

Its about what is a necessary precaution as far as is reasonably practical.

Airbags can cause bad burns to people, those who have an incorrect driving posture can have their arms shattered when they go off, they aren't particularly safe, but they are better than the alternative in some cases.

Can't see a lower-body airbag being successful though. If it was a particularly viable option, we'd already be seeing it used alongside the airbags they currently wear in MotoGP etc

I'd go with something a bit thicker, like their brains.

How would one of these even work? All I can imagine is some sort of pullstring attached to the bike so when you come off it inflates. Won't help much if you just slip up at a corner.

And wouldn't wearing something extra on your legs just cause drag if it caught something?
