Strange indicator fault NSR 125

Hi all, i have found that when i have my indicators on whilst engine is on tick over i have no problem, but as soon as i rev the engine above 4000rpm they stop working and when the engine returns to idle they come back on. I have recently fitted a new flasher relay but not an original. I have changed the font bulbs to 10 watt bulbs but still no joy. I have checked the charge rate and it is about 14v and regulating well under load.If anyone has any suggestions i would be very grateful. Jaffa.

Is it both sides that do this?If it is just one side or both then I would suspect the earth points.

If you have access to a multimeter then this will be easy to test.

My bike does exactly the same. Although the only difference is it'll sort itself out if i touch the front brake then the lights work again. Laughing

Got no idea what it is. Effort to check over the wiring system hidden beneath friggin everything. Laughing

Just out of curiosity but does pulling your front break leaver effect the headlights atall?

Thoughts on the issue though is the Regulator.

When the Regulator goes on the NSR you may find that revving the engine will cause it to give out less power and therefore in the dark, facing a wall, bring the engine from idle up to 6-8k and back down. If the headlights dim as the engine RPM rises then the reg/stator is likely to be on its way out.

Regulator seems fine through the rev range sticking at about 14v. I'm going to check the rear bulbs are 10 w but cannot see it being this. Its a weird one alright. i will get into it when it stops pissing down. my be down to water ingress some where.

Hi all, just an update on this one. Doing a bit of investigation on this and started by bridging out the relay. when switched on they are on permanent and do not go out when i rev the bike. Reinstalled the relay and the fault is there straight away.so i will try another relay and see what happens. I had checked all the bulbs to make sure they are 10w and they are.
