I tell you what I was SOOOOOO nervous before mine, went to the loo about 4 times in the morning. As soon as I'd had my first wobble pulling away, then got into 2nd and was riding around the car park I LOVED it. It's awesome fun.

Compulsory Basic Training. Wink

If your instructors are half decent, it'll be done at your pace. It's training, not a test, just enjoy it.

I know, but having only ever ridden off road and at a pace alot faster than most streets, aswell as coming off alot. To go from that to riding properly will be fun.

It's Griggsy Rider Training of New Haw, super local and on the website he boasts 36 years of motorcycle training and used to be a bikecop..

We'll see. I'm just having a little look online as to what I should expect.

Ta for the replies. Karma

you'll be fine on the day if you enjoy it. At least you've been on a motorcycle before so the CBT should be a piece of cake for you. I had no experience when I went for mine other than a 2 hour taster session. At the end of it, they told me I should not go through with a CBT because I didn't have the knack for it. Well, I didn't listen to them and I wanted to do it, so within 6 months I had passed Mod 2 in DAS. Just go for it. Nothing to lose if you don't try and enjoy it.

Seriously, if you've ever ridden a bike before, you will fly through the CBT.

The closest thing that I had ridden to a motorbike before my CBT was a push bike on my paper round. And I hadn't ridden one of those for a year or two!

Hahahahaha! Well, I've just insured the DT (£258.14) and brought the L plates and a tax disc holder. Could that be counting my chickens before they've hatched?

I'm looking forward to it don't get me wrong. My Apple iPhone has informed me it's not going to be a nice day however Mad

I was a n00b and didn't research as much (or at all) as I should. So didn't know what to expect other than what I'd heard on here.

Well impressed with the bike, I've done 100 miles since 4oclock yesterday. Very Happy

After having some banter with the other boys doing their modules I was definitely tempted to just book it there and then. I'm gonna see what next months pay looks like, if it's as good as this months I'll be booking my DAS straight away. I'll keep the DT for days out and about with the boys. Smile Regarding petrol, I filled up yesterday, (£12.03) and only had to put in 2 quid this morning 'cos as some of you may know the bike doesn't have a fuel gauge so had to check and was in the garage as it was.

Zero your trip counter when you fill up, make a note of the mileage when you have to switch to the reserve tank and that'll give you a good idea of when you'll need to refuel Smile

Seems so, I was riding the speed limit, defensively, covering my brakes when needs be and always looking ahead.

I overheard the guy telling the police that he 'lost power' and that's why he slammed on his brakes. Neutral

Ive got a broken thumb and just some heavy bruising. So yeah I'd say pretty lucky. Thumbs Up
