So Ive been riding a 125 for about a year now and want to get a bigger bike in about 2 months time (Bandit 600). Now can I just do a few lessons on a 500cc then book in for mod1 an mod 2 or is there more to it ?

Check with your preferred riding school to see what they offer, but you should at least aim for a practice run on the Mod1 course on either your 125, the school's 500, or preferably both, before deciding what the best route is based on your abilities.
