Right i booked my theory two days ago. I couldn't get hold of any bike theory books during the week so i left revising for few days. So today i visited my local library to take out some books that would help me with my bike theory, later found out they hand none.

So now I'm stuck here with only knowledge on the car theory test. So I'm just wondering if any could point me in the right direction to any sites or free ebooks need to revise asap. I can't afford to fail I'm a 17 year old wanting to do this thing on a budget.

Theory test date = 9am

I wouldn't advocate piracy, but I'll bet you can download some stuff from the web.

Theory test date= 9a.m.

That's a time btw...so, is it tomorrow??

Get over to https://www.all4bikers.com/theory/ and study like crazy and then study some more.

All the fail questions are the good questions as you will remember the answers if you do them enough times. The answers you give correctly....well, they aint the problem are they.

Trams man, don't forget the Trams, the DSA love their Trams Wink

Seconded on the trams, they do love the trams. Also get versed up with the eco bullshit the DSA are loving atm. E.g. remember that catalytic converters make exhaust fumes cleaner etc. I passed my theory yesterday and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. If you passed your car theory then you'll have no problem getting through this one- just follow the link given in the previous post and get versed up on bike specific questions to give yourself a fighting chance. But if you have a basic knowledge of how the road works and some common sense you'll be fine.

Good luck Thumbs Up

*edit* "exhaust fumes cleaner"

You're aware the Highway Code is available for free on the internet? Direct.Gov, check it out. The motorbike twist on it is minimal, just basics about carrying pillions etc.

Although saying that, I only passed it by the skin of my teeth...

IF you know the car theory questions well, then you shouldn't have much problem...

Differences from the top of my head:

You only need 1mm for a bike tyre, not 1.6mm for a car (this question caught me out)

Wind can blow you off course

It's the wheel alignment you check after tightening a chain (this question caught me out too), you also lube/oil the chain regularly

--

Take your time for each question... you have ages to do the questions, so just take your time on each one and try and work the answer out by elimination if you don't know.

+1 to https://www.all4bikers.com/theory/ - very handy for when I did my theory

Have you got your click strategy sorted for the HPT part?

I did my car theory test last december, decided i wanted to do the bike one and booked it on wednesday night. Passed it this morning.

The only revision i did was to pass the car one last december and about an hour yesterday looking through some free stuff google came up with and to be honest, it was piss easy.

You will have no problems at all. Relearn some of the braking distances and other figures they like to throw at you, there will maybe be a question or two on maintainance to keep your bike safe and roadworthy (all of which is common sense) but other than that you will sail through it.

Well done! Thumbs Up We have a localised version where it asks about 'Filter in Turn's' and 'Yellow lines across junctions', I asked the invigilator whether there were any questions on Trams as they seemed to come up so often in the practice tests and we haven't had a tram in the Island since 1946, he said 'no Trams' which was a relief.

I got 46/50, two wrong answers in the 'Attitude' section. I told the invigilator I 'Wasn't fuckin' happy about that', chucked all my toys out of my pram and flounced off.

I personally love the tram questions. As i live in south london, and spend allot of time in croydon were there are allot of trams.

My next dilemma, can i pass my mod 1 + mod 2 without barely practicing xD only have like 24hours riding time under my belt. Plus i also don't have a bike so ill probably get ripped off in bike rent fees.

Good job! Did you get the "What are the environmental(ist) benefits of mufuing trams, yo yo" question? Wink

There's no reason you can't pass with 24 hours of experience, but if you don't have your own bike, you're essentially at the mercy of whatever training school you're renting from.

Do you have anyone Local At All who you can charm into putting you on their Local Bike Policy for Local People?
